Re: NASCAR thread
I've never been a fan, but I do respect him. He has stated that he wants to stick with Chevys so that leaves a lot of teams open. RCR has been after him for a long time and he would probably do well there. I personally think that he'll head for Gibbs. He is good friends with Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin as well as being a Redskins fan. Perfect match.
I don't think that he has to worry about losing fans...most of his fans are women and they could care less who he drives for. |
Re: NASCAR thread
Here's update RCR and Jack Roush is talking with JR right now for next year,be great see Drives Roush race car.

Re: NASCAR thread
I can't imagine Jr. would ever go to Hendricks. I could see Childress for sure. But not driving a #3 car. I seriously doubt that number will ever be used again. I'm glad he left DEI. I don't think he's been happy there for about the past 3 years. I'm not a Jr. fan at all, but I do like him alot better than his dad. It will be interesting where the chips fall on this.

I'm putting my money on Junior going to Gibbs and Yeley being booted out of the #18....

Re: NASCAR thread
JR will go to RCR and someone will leave -- not Harvick or Burton. :27:
He will drive the 3 too. Perhaps not every race but the 3 will ride again. :D Bud ???????????????????????? |
Re: NASCAR thread
Jr. is okay in my book. Wish he could work it out with Theresa :D . Wouldn't it be great if nobody offered him a "good enough" contract, had to settle on a term with Mikey!
|
Re: NASCAR thread
I cannot wait to see Junior in a....
(wait for it...) Toyota!!! That would be perfect in so many ways, and you know they'd be willing to pony up whatever it took to make something like that happen at this point in time, including majority ownership in a team, boatload of money, whatever...am I right? :borg: |

Jr. wants to WIN. |
Re: NASCAR thread
Well since Nascar to some is as staged as professional wrestling, the only way that Jr. will win a championship is to join the Hendricks team. :23:

Re: NASCAR thread
A number of people I've talked to today about this situation were dumbfounded when I made the exact same comment...and then said that it was something that made perfect sense. Toyota would give him the keys to the kingdom....carte blanche in an automotive domain where the technology and money would flow like a river.
My best bet is to invest in tatoo shop equipment. Can you imagine how many '8' tatoos are going to have to be revised or removed? :borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
It will NEVER happen.
You see, I have a feeling that Jr. loves America too much to commit treason, and doesn't seem to be a whore like the Waltrips. |

I have to agree, I don't think he would do such an uforgiveable thing. According to a local tv station down in N.C. Richard Childress has called for a press conference today.(Friday) http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/6798298 |
Re: NASCAR thread
Here is the story line for the Monday after the 2008 Daytona 500:
Earnhardt (Jr) Wins Daytona 500 In First Race With Childress Racing in the Bud Select #3 Chevrolet! Nascar, Budweiser, Chevrolet, Childress & Fox (or whomever has the TV rights to the race) will cash in. Remember who said it and when:tongue: |

Who knows, but I do know one thing, there will be a lot of $$ and Nacar will see that he wins as it sells tickets

Re: NASCAR thread
Just heard the news, JR is going with Gibbs in the Bud #20.
Tony is retiring the end of this season to become a wrasler. Going for a different Championship. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...fav/76058X.jpg |

Re: NASCAR thread
I guess I'll have to record this race too. Got plans tonight. I guess I'll have to watch it tomorrow morning.

Re: NASCAR thread
Hope you took the rain delay into account...
:borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
The race will start at 12pm sunday 5/13/07 on FOX.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
Excellent, I had an out of town soccer tournament but I'll be home for the race now. :D
|
Re: NASCAR thread
They kept saying the rain was going to slack off and end...and they kept saying it and saying it. I hope it's finally done by today.
Looks like the subject of all the water cooler talk this week got his hand slapped. NASCAR caught Jr. with a car that didn't pass inspection after the rain out. :borg: |

Re: NASCAR thread
Now that the JR. camp got caught cheating I'm dying to here the comments on here from the Earnhardt fans. If this were Jimmy or Jeff the forums would have lit up already. Point is, they all try to get an edge.
Here's your link. http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/6804988 |

Re: NASCAR thread
Ginn Racing is really pushing for JR, that would give him a well financed team to drive for. HMS engines, Mark Martin hanging around, bunch of money to invest, Ginn has no issues with Bud like Gibbs, and he would be a teammate to the Army car. :D
|
Re: NASCAR thread
Quote:
I think this is a very real possibility. Ginn has a lot of money and has shown that he is serious. And as you mentioned Martin, and ohh yea, a minor little thing like having Hendricks motors in the car. :D Personally, I don't think he's going to end up with RCR. |
Re: NASCAR thread
My money's on Ginn as well. He'd get the advantage of the Hendrick support, and would probably put him in the best spot to be the contender he wants to be. I think him going to RCR would only be overshadowed by the history his dad had with them. Evenham sounds like he want Jr. really badly, but had the wrong make of car in his stable, and JGR has made the statememnt that the Bud sponsorship doesn't fit with his family friendly image (and he has Tony Stewart driving for him?!). Toyota's been awfully quiet, though.
I checked NASCARs site, and they've been strangely quiet about the 'issue' with Jr's rear spoiler mounting stanchions which were found to be illegal in pre-race (I'd said after the rain out, but had bad information, sorry). Here's another link from AOL sports... http://sports.aol.com/nascar/story/_...12220709990001 :borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
JGR could be a good fit as Jr. and Tony get along pretty good. Personally, I would like to see them on a team together. RCR would not be good for several reasons. One would be how would camera hog Harvick take it, as he would be backseated to Jr. for sure. Look what happened to him and Robbie, both wanted to be the "top gun" and it carried over to the track!
The Hendrick thingy would get even more ugly. Jimmy and Jeffery would keep their panties in a wad! |
Re: NASCAR thread
Another lousy day for all you Hendricks bashers. :D
Again, Jeff Gordon showing why he is one of the all time greats whether Earnhardt fans want to admit it or not. |
Re: NASCAR thread
Quote:
Although in 5 more laps he would have been #2. They played the right hand there at the end. Glad JJ didn't win. |
Re: NASCAR thread

In 5 more laps Gordon could have been #25th. I was really expecting that engine to go. If it would have made it another 5 laps I think Hamlin would have caught him within 3 laps. That car was the best one on the track. |
Re: NASCAR thread

They should be dang proud of that motor, it made it through a good burnout too. I'm not much of a burnout guy --- I prefer the ole skool guys like Martin and Burton. :machgod: When that team gets on a roll they win a bunch. |
Re: NASCAR thread
Crap, another great track turned boring by the new ugly asz car. I swear they are heading for SPEC racers eventually and there hasn't been an exciting finish in the COT cars yet! :Flame:
