I'm hearing a lot of crying from jealous fans. Just man up and say congrats to Pittsburg and their fans. Stop crying about QB ratings and other nonsense. This is the same nonsense from last year when the Giants won. The Steelers did a great job and they're the champs. Maybe someday your team(s) will be champs too.:23:

Fantastic news for Bears fans!!! The Bears just traded for Jay Cutler!!! I would have never thought in a million years the Bears would do something daring like this, they are usually very conservative with their cash. With Matt Forte and Cutler in the backfield I am starting to get excited.

AND Shortly after acquiring Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler in a blockbuster trade with the Broncos, the Bears on Thursday agreed to terms with free agent offensive tackle Orlando Pace on a three-year contract.

Pace is the third offensive lineman the Bears have added in free agency, following Frank Omiyale and Kevin Shaffer. Hopefully Pace still has a couple of years in him.

Re: NFL Football Thread

The only thing I worry about is they gave Denver their 2009 and 2010 first round picks, along with the third in 2009. They still need a playmaker on the D-line and a wide reciever badly, along with at least one good cornerback, so I don't know where those players are going to come from.

I'm just glad he didn't end up in Minnesota, I think they are one QB away from being a great team.

Let's go Bears!!!

Re: NFL Football Thread

It doesn't surprise me that the Bears were willing to give up 2 first round picks. Jerry Angelo hates first rounders for two reasons, first he stinks at picking them, and second they cost a lot of money. He picked Rex Grossman, and Michael Haynes in the same first round. Grossman is gone, and I do not think that Haynes is even playing anymore. He also drafted Cedric "sleepy" Benson and Marc Columbo, both no longer with the Bears. But, I am happy to see him being more active in the market. Time will tell what will happen. I was just starting to become an Orton fan. Go Bears!

I watched the Bears play the Giants Sunday evening. I was pretty satisfied with what I saw on offense, unlike in the first game. They appear to have some decent weapons, Cutler can definitely get the ball into places most other qbs can't. The defense has looked a little soft against the pass so far in the preseason, hopefully they can get back their injured players and shore that up a bit. All in all I like what I see, the Bears missed the playoffs by the thinnest of margins last year and I think they are better this year, so it's all good.

Nothing wrong with that. Last year the Steelers had the toughest schedule of any team. The Patriots had the easiest schedule in the league last year. They would have probably gone 16-0 again if Brady would'nt have gotten hurt.

Should be an easy game against my Bears. They have some talent but are very poorly coached. Brian Urlacher dislocated his wrist last night in that debacle against Green Bay.

EDIT: ESPN says Urlacher is out for the year. Tinoisamoa is out for a month, that's 2/3 or the Bears starting linebackers.

Re: NFL Football Thread

romo looked tons better without TO but our defense blew balls.

that being said, a lot of highly rated teams looked like crap....greenbay, steelers, bears, panthers.

im sick of hearing about how the packers are going to win the superbowl...not a snowballs chance in hell.

titans had the steelers all locked up if they could kick simple field goals.

peterson + favre is gonna be fun to watch.

Wonder whats going to happen to mcnabb? Broncos didnt look that great...barely squeeked by the bengals

drew brees is friggin amazing. and im impressed with how well the lions kept up after going 0-16 last year.

sanchez and the jets show potential....and the 49er's, they came outta no where....beating the nfc champs at home was a great job.

What a surprise, the Raiders get f#@ked over by the refs, again. That was a TD catch right before halftime! Referees need to be held accountable for sh!t calls like that. All 3 announcers and Berman say it was a crap call.

My hopes for this season are:
-TO fades into oblivion
-Favre has a crap season
-The Raiders end the season with a .500 record

I saw the touchdown, turned away for a few minutes and come back and see the score Raiders 10...instead of 14. ???????? :wtf:

If they're going to have to beat the Chargers AND the refs, they don't have much of a chance.

If the Raiders want to have a winning season they need to get rid of JaMarcus Russell ASAP. That guy sucks. They should have beaten the Chargers by enough points that called back touchdown would'nt have mattered.

Regardless, taking away that touchdown was huge...considering when it happened. Having a 14 to 7 lead at that time and the momentum that they had going, might have made more than the 4 point difference.

The Raiders still could have won, but the linebackers decided to drop back far enough to "give" the Chargers easy first downs with their backs coming out of the backfield for short pass/big gains.

My Redskins have NO OFFENCE again this year. They stink.
The Giants will beat the cowgirls this week and ruin Jerry's Homecoming game.:23:
The cowgirls do have a New 12th man, the huge scoreboard. It will block everything high and long. Nice job, Jerry.:eyes: :23:

second...theres two teams in the nfl that are known as the suxors...the lions and the raiders. if the raiders woulda won, it woulda been nothing more than a fluke

And fans of the Raiders, being rather used to their team's woes during the recent years, would have no problem with a fluke. A fluke beats a loss any day of the week.

The last few years, Raiders fans are just happy to see their team not being blown out by the second quarter or start of the third quarter.

Little steps. 500 or close would be very nice.

Good luck with that. The cowgirl db's couldn't cover the TB receivers, lucky for them that the TB receivers could NOT catch the ball. If that same defence shows up this week, game over, cowgirls loss.......period.

The problem with JaMarcus is that he doesn't give a darn about football, anyone see him smiling and yucking it up after bad plays last night? JR is from here in Mobile and it is common knowledge around these parts that he doesn't give a crap about football. All he really cares about is showing off his Maybach 52 to his crack dealer buddies, getting chauffeured around by his joke of a manager and hanging out in clubs with drug dealers. His story will end badly unless he grows up.
