He don't do that often and even the God of Nascar(according to many on this site) Dale Sr. have had their moments like this. However, it would have been much easier to handle if he would have lost to Jr.,Edwards, Burtin, Martin. Anyone but that pathetic doughboy Tony Stewart. I can't stand Stewart. And the difference between Gordon and Stewart. Gordon didn't go into a display of profanity. He was not happy, he was brief(but not rude) and blamed himself for a stupid mistake when questioned by the media. |

I bet a second was looking pretty good when all those rocks started flyin.
I think he should have settled too. :3b: Robby Gordon was very calm today???? |
Re: NASCAR thread
I totally agree on the trumpet redition of the Nat'l Anthem being awesome. Todays wasn't horrible, but it's definitly one of the poorer renditions I've heard.
It really sucked to see Edwards go off road at the end, but he at least recovered and still finished ahead of Gordon. Wonder of Harvick'll get a fine for stating that he was "gonna kick Montoyas a$$" on nat'l TV? Ummm..."G"...I'm just wondering...about that avatar...WTF??? :borg: |

AWESOME race BTW. Road courses are kinda boring in general but this one had a little of everything in it. Sucks about Edwards biffing it at the end but at least he kept a top 10. |

Re: NASCAR thread
The weather was total crap. I went ahead and drove out there on Sunday, and there were over 100,000 like minded nuts there as well. Getting there wasn't too bad, getting out of that mud bog...well, they'll be washing my rental off for a while!
No race today, so this may be a race that changes the whole season. I've heard three possible scenarios: Race Tuesday (Bristol is Saturday night, so this might be tough) Race next Tuesday (Possible, but doubtful. The cars would be impounded at the track for a week.) Race the Friday after Thanksgiving (This is the one that will probably happen. This will chance the whole Chase situation as well as making the season ender a race run in abnornally cold conditions. Should be fun!) :borg: |

The race is tomorrow at 10am eastern time.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
So if it rains out tomorrow and they run it after Turkey Day, that means Richmond will no longer be the final race before the Chase which really sucks. I wonder if they'll put studs on the tires in case it snows?!? :D
|
Re: NASCAR thread
If the weather is like it was forcast to be when I left this morning, I wouldn't look for a race on Tuesday, but you never know. The idea of the last race being at Michigan is interesting as it'll be stupid cold, and I don't know which will give out first; the fans or the tires on the cars...

Bristo Race week has started! Campers lined up 16 days ago to get into the campground near the track. Get ready, gonna be the best race this year!!
|
Re: NASCAR thread
Rubberhead won dang it. And he's really good at Bristol too....
Bristol should be decent now that nearly every one in the top 10 is basically locked in to the Chase. None of this conservative racing we've seen for the past 3 years..... |
Re: NASCAR thread
Is Rubberhead Kurt Busch?
|
Re: NASCAR thread
I never have liked the chase. The whole thing is based on kissin owner/sponsor butt. Worse than the chase is the 35 car lock in ------ I'd end that tomorrow.

It seems like there is a changing of the guards. No more are there the drivers who work with their heads in the carburetor, just drivers who drive. We will miss Rusty as he rides out to the sunset[with his 3 wheel old persons bike, thanks to Daytona Motor Speedway]. He was coined the original "Rubberhead" by the Great one Dale Sr. after a horrific wreck at Talladega. His head was pinned downwards from the roof of his car. Senior was one of the first people to the scene. When safety workers cut the roof off Dale said his head popped up like it was made of rubber. Henceforth giving Rusty the nickname "Rubberhead". Ironically Kevin Harvick called Kurt Busch that 3 years ago at Daytona for being STUPID. With Rubbermaid as a sponsor Harvick coined that name on him. Kind of funny how the new "Rubberhead" is taking over the "Old Rubberhead's" ride. As for the new "Rubberhead, make Rusty and Penske proud, DON'T BE A ****!!!! God bless you Rusty we will miss you as you pedal off into the sunset on your new Daytona approved bike. |

5 out of 10. Nextel Rookie. Any of the 80's questions I bombed on. I've only been following Nascar for 10 years. :frown:

I CAN"T WAIT. BRISTOL TONIGHT!!! On the new track even. |
Re: NASCAR thread
Kinda tame Bristol race! Atleast Carl got to do a back flip. Kinda thought K.K. had that one wrapped up!
|
Re: NASCAR thread
The extra 3ft. wide of new track has really opened up the race for more passing and better outlets to avoid wrecks.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
2 top tens in a row for Bobby Labonte in his first 2 races with New Crew Chief Doug Randolph!!! Keep it up guys!
