A man that is blessed with great wisdom I must say. :worship:

I'll go as far as saying two will be in the top 5 and the third in the top 10. Unfortunately I'm going to say that Tony Stewart is also going to be in the top 5.

Go #24, #48, #88.

Total rain out of qualifying. I thought they used the current points for position, but NASCAR website is showing the two Hendrat cars on the front row?!? WTF???

:borg:

(I see now it's based on owners points at this point? From last season??? Hep me! Someone 'splain this...it's a conspiracy! )

I can't remeber the exact number but I know the first few races go by last years points. I wanna say it's the first 5 or 6 races.

Nope not at all. I'm secure with my manhood. My man card is securely in my wallet. I could care less that other than Jr. that these guys did not come from Georgia, North Carolina(for what it's worth, I was born in N.C.), Mississippi, Tennesee, South Carolina, or any other state down in the south. Nor do I care if they are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, or metro sexual. My only concern is that I've been a Gordon fan for years and that he can flat out race a car better than most on that track. :smack:

Look like we get a rare double header tonight! With the Bus...errr...Nationwide race rained out, it's scheduled to go 1 hour after the Cup race ends.

Re: NASCAR thread

Nationwide race after the Sprint Cup Race? Sounds like a gumball rally after seeing the winged dirt car racers run! Boy I long for the days of Busch & Winston Cup Nascar racing. I can't get used to the Sprint Cup. I hear it and think about Sammy Swindell & Steve Kinser. Several years ago, they turned Bristol Motor Speedway into a dirt track by hauling in tons of red clay. We went to see those boys run. Wow, very fast & very very dirty!! I had red clay in my teeth after watching that racing.

Glad i took today off. Watch out for the 18, that *** is going to smoke everyone. Maybe win all three series and come out with the lead in them all.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people are. The grandstands are about 1/4 full. Why people never prepare for a Monday rainout day is beyond me. You blow all that money to see a race and you end up not seeing the Busch race or the Cup race. Retards.

I agree, with the cost involved I'd be prepared to stay.

When I go to cup races, I always take vacation longer then I need just in case. Like mentioned, with as much as you pay for them tickets, why would you not prepare for it.

Thunderbolt 02-25-2008 05:23 PM

Re: NASCAR thread

I always take 2 weeks off if I'm going to a race, because we always leave for the race on a Wednesday or Thursday and camp inside or outside the track, and we come back from the race on Monday, or Tuesday if it's a rainout. So no matter what I'm not missing anything.

Blackpony04 02-25-2008 07:29 PM

Re: NASCAR thread

Considering how expensive hotel rooms are and how horrible traffic probably is going to and from the track, it shouldn't be a big surprise. And people do have to work for a living. I'm with you guys in planning to stay longer, but I can understand why it happens. Besides, at my work we couldn't let more than 2 or 3 people off at the same time and nearly a dozen guys go to the Chicago race.....

Oh, and hooray for CARL! Sucks that the race ended under caution cuz Jeff Gordon's car blowed up on the last lap and he wouldn't have ended up in 3rd otherwise....

falcongtho3 02-25-2008 08:21 PM

Re: NASCAR thread

Hurray for Carl. Wish he'd have won the double, that would have been cool.

And as one of those 'retards' who got nailed with a rain out last year, it was a chance to see a race while I was at the Dream Cruise. I took the chance, I got rained out. Can't say I'm happy about it, but it doesn't bother me all that much...

:agree:

I was thinking the same thing this morning. With all of the hype surrounding Toilleta and Chebby in the pre-season, it's good to see a Dodge and a Ford take the first two race. Hopefully it'll be a practice that continues throughout the season.

I was just channel surfing and came across the NHRA race at Phoenix. How long has Toyota been in drag racing? I heard one commentator talking about a guys Toyota Funny Car. Man, that's even worse than Toyota in Nascar. I have'nt followed NHRA in quite afew years.

Re: NASCAR thread

the funny car is body only .All but one of the funny cars run the same engine Mike Nerf runs the new ford nitro engine for John Force.

It's pretty much the same way with NASCAR. It's just a different set of stickers instead of a different body. I'm not sure on the block though. Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, In NASCAR they are all the same. Just a different name on them.
