Re: NASCAR thread
This takes the cake.
A rookie, Reagan Smith, who Stewart forced below the line, was going for his first win. ASSCAR relegated him to 18th place! :wtf: ? |
Re: NASCAR thread
Headline "NASCAR makes good call"
"according to NASCAR" :smack: |
Re: NASCAR thread
Ok, if the rule really is you get a black flag and a pass through penalty for improving your position below the yellow line???????
Then the rule also states that you may be black flagged for forcing someone below the line?????? We really need to clear up some of these wills, mays, coulds, and other nascar BS. :anger: To be fair --- Paul Menard should be your winner or it should be Smith. :23: NASCAR will regret this call. :smokin: |

Brian France is so stupid,
even low ratings and empty grandstands cannot wake up that tool. |

Not. |
Re: NASCAR thread
JJ gets the pole by default...JG remains jealous.
In other NASCAR news, apparently Carl Edwards is trying to sabotage Harvicks chances by denting the Chevys hood with his head and keeping Harvicks crew busy by teaching them WWE style wrestling moves like the headlock! check out the NASCAR site for the details, but it don't sound pretty. :borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
I saw that too.
I guess since Harvick took Dale Sr.'s ride after he died, he thinks he IS Dale Sr. |

However, Harvick now needs to shut up and let it go. To Edwards credit he appears to have moved on. I also here that the tension is very thick right now at team Roush. It's been reported that Biffle and Kenseth still are not very excited by their teammate. |
Re: NASCAR thread
Interesting poll (or is it a pool) on nascar.com.................
Who would win in a good old-fashioned knock-down, drag-out between Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards? I just have a feeling when you consider all factors, Harvick would pull it off. It's important to be fit and Carl has the edge there but Kevin has had some tough encounters of this type before and came out on top. The results are like the election, very close!!!! http://www.nascar.com/POLLSERVER/results/42506.html |
Re: NASCAR thread
All I can say is he's called Yap-Yap Harvick for a reason! I think Carl could easily take him in a fair fight. Key word being "Fair!" I think Harvick would bring a wrench! :23:

Re: NASCAR thread
I'll go out on a "shakey" limb and predict #48 or #88 will win it tonight!

I'll take the 17 or the 6.

Harvick is a jackazz and always will be.

Re: NASCAR thread
I have'nt seen very many races this year, but that was by far the best one I've seen. Burton drove like I've never seen before. Excellent race.

After last night about the only three drivers who have a chance are Johnson, Burton, and Biffle. Edwards with his two horrible races in a row is virtually out of it. It did suck to see the Busch brothers finish 3 and 4. But it was nice to see Kahne finish 2nd, Martin in 9th, and sooner or later David Ragan is going to break out and win a race. Ohh and how can I forget Jeff Gordon in 8th. After doing his best Kyle Busch impersonation and hitting the wall twice in the first couple of laps:crazy: ends up rebounding very nice. |
Re: NASCAR thread
It was very impressive to see Gordon start off on such a sour note and make the comeback that he did. The in-car footage of Jrs. ride of the wall was really something eye-opening. Lots of really ugly noises.
Edwards probably got hit by whatever Karma he brought upon himself, and it would be sad to see him out of contention, since we still have the second half of the chase yet to go. Poor Matt can't buy abreak, and Biffle seems to be riding a wave of 'almost there'. Should be an interesting next five weeks to say the least. :borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
I'm just glad that Johnson didn't win at Charlotte for the ten thousandth time! Glad that a nice guy like Jeff Burton could win. Plus his wife is really hot!

Re: NASCAR thread
The second article down shows that NASCAR favors Dale Jr. too. In this little article, Jr. is questioning why he got the victory a couple of years ago and Smith didn't when they both did the exact same thing at the same track. Passed below the yellow line on the last lap.

Re: NASCAR thread
News that "Little Debbie" will sponsor Ford traitor Marcos Ambrose
in a Michael Waltrip toiletta in the number 47 in Atlanta. http://www.nascar.com/2008/news/head...ose/index.html So what do I think of it? I went here: http://www.mckeefoods.com/Contact_Us/Complaints.htm And wrote them this: (I am very serious, I did do it) "First, I want to thank Little Debbie for supporting Ford, NASCAR, Bill Elliott on the Wood Brothers' Ford for the past season or so. I will admit I purposely chose your products over others to use my power of the consumer to thank you. However, when you start sponsoring Japanese cars, this permanently and immediately stops this practice of mine. I will now purposely avoid your products as if they were poison, since your company does not understand how much so-called "import" cars have hurt this country and people in the US auto business. People in Michigan are losing their jobs left and right, and you decide it is more important to flagrantly thumb your corporate nose at these Americans as if it were nothing at all. You are an AMERICAN company. Act like one. Sponsor an AMERICAN CAR! A former customer, Steve" I wish millions of REAL Americans would do the same. |

I'm not sure I can help. My dream is to see an Aston Martin team out there. Perhaps they can get the company that makes martini shakers to sponsor them. :smokin: All kidding aside, it's just a matter of time before we see Honda, Nissan, Kia, etc .... pushing to get in. That's gonna suck but after November it may be the trend. :anger: |
Re: NASCAR thread
Here's what needs to happen:
Speed channel signs a contract with ASA to provide TV coverage to all ASA races. ASA signs a contract with ISC for races on certain tracks for a period of 10 years or so. Nascar team owners and American sponsors, in conjunction with ASA, start a new class of race cars in ASA simlar to cup cars, but in a non-ricer looking package. US Mfr.'s pull out of ASSCAR and support the new ASA series. Brian "The Pansy" France tries to sue owners and the ASA unsuccessfully, and shows up, in court, with a big load of poopy pants, sort of like Keith Olberman on MSDNC. ASSCAR dies a slow, fart can death.................................... |

As for my dislikes. I cheer the driver and not the car or team. That is unless like Jarrett they cross over and drive a Toyota. That will end it for me. |

I think i'd also like Carl, whether he drove for Ford or not, but he does and that's how he came to my attention, especially as a follow up to Mark in the Roush camp. My like of Jarrett came to a halt when Dale went to Toyota. I'd probably have a hard time rooting for any of them if they jumped to 'Yota, much less Honda. I wonder how much NASCAR actually pays attention to such discussions among its fan base? Not much it seems. I think there was mroe buzz in the last few months about the chance that the Challenger and Mustang and Camaro would be in the Nationwide series, although it seem that Ford is not going with the pony car, sadly, as its next racer in that series. That buzz isn't a high priority in NASCAR. Too bad, it could have actually brought in more new fans. That's something has failed to do of late, while simultainiously running off its fan base. My 'hatred' for Hendricks is mostly tongue in cheek, so dont' take it heart. I have a die-hard Hendricks fan at work who is one person who I like to needle whenever JJ orJG takes a dive, knowing full well how much crap I'll have to endure when the same happens to my guys. :borg: |

As for if Gordon, and Johnson both end up driving Honda's with Hendricks, then yes, I will no longer root for the drivers. Like I did clearly state, I root for the driver not the car or team. However, put them in a Toyota(or a Honda) and that's it for me. I did clearly state that. A Chevy, Dodge, or Ford is fine. Asian and you can take a hike. I may even dislike any driver even in an American nameplate with Walmart on their hood. LOL |
Re: NASCAR thread
I cannot stand Gordon because he is NOT a man of honor,
and not a man of his word. Nothing but a whiney punk who can't drive a COT. |

Re: NASCAR thread
I caught part of one of the pre-race shows,
and Kyle Petty and the other pundits were explaining away why the ticket sales were down, blaming it on the economy. That doesn't explain the lower TV ratings. Wanna know what the problem is Kyle? Toiletta, that's what. |
Re: NASCAR thread
The fan level is gonna go way down when they stop them from running gas powered vehicles. Plus the pit stops will be tough on the battery man. :23:
Are they racing today somewhere???????????? |
