Re: NASCAR thread
I don't like him, but at least he drives an American car,
and not some toilet. |
Re: NASCAR thread
None of these Munchkins could have drivin the pre 70's cars for 500 miles. :23:

Re: NASCAR thread
I'll go one better.
Put JJ in Elliott's 1987 Talladega car, (212.809) with that little spoiler and bias ply tires. See if the back of his uniform looks more like a UPS truck than a Lowe's truck when he gets out afterward. |
Re: NASCAR thread
So a lot of you people don't think Jimmie could handle racing back in the days. Let's see.
Started racing motorcycles at the age of 5 and won a championship at the age of 7. Later on, he started racing off road trucks (I know some guys that do this and they say it is not easy racing those trucks) Raced in 3 different series, (SODA, SCORE, and MTEG) and got rookie of the year in all divisions. 25 wins, 100 tops 3's, and 6 championships racing off road trucks. Plus raced in ASA and got rookie of the year before making his way to Nationwide series and raced both series at the same time.. He also has a bada$$ '67 camaro with an actual Hendricks race motor in it with plenty of other mods. If he can do all this and plus have this much success in NASCAR, I think he would be able to handle those cars back then. Especially if he can handle those off road trucks as good as he did. Yes I like Jimmie Johnson but he's not my favorite driver but you have to give credit where credit is due. What can I say, the guy knows how to drive. And he is a clean racer unlike most of the guys back then, Especially Earnhardt Sr. |
Re: NASCAR thread
^^ Doesn't matter one iota.^^^^
Could he duke it out with Cale Yarborough? Um, no. |

Re: NASCAR thread
Could we see the Mustang (and Camaro) dukeing it out in the Cup series in 2013?
http://www.nascar.com/2010/news/feat...els/index.html Also, we could see a change in the points system for the upcoming year. We should know more on Friday. :borg: |

:23: like putting the pair figure skaters on the ice at the same time and racing. Just when you thought Nascar could'nt get any worse.........they give you that . Dumbest racing I've ever seen. The drivers did'nt even know what to say about it. :23: |
Re: NASCAR thread
Nascar going to EFI in 2012. Supposed "cheatproof " system will have nascar code embedded.

I can't believe I totally forgot about the Bud Shootout on Saturday. Do they always run the 150's that early on Thursday? It starts at 11am Pacific time here. I'll actually miss 1 hour of the race.

Square dancing on four wheels? Swing your partner round and round, tap the bumper and make some :UPS: :23: |
Re: NASCAR thread
I just can't get used to seeing my favorite driver of all time, Bill Elliott, in a Chevrolet. I feel like I've been punched in the stomach every time I see it.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
I can't get Steppenwolf's "The Pusher" out of my head. Today was the first time I've seen this (I saw the truck race which was the usual freight train). I'm not a fan of it so far. I guess I'll wait and see how the race ends.

Re: NASCAR thread
I've found myself coming back to watch Nascar racing after some years. It looks more interesting. I like the track surface now and the least worries in tire failure in years.
Nevermind, I'm recovering from back surgery... :23: ...and feeling better everyday!!! around 28 to go |
Re: NASCAR thread
The irony is just nutz!!!! :claus:

Re: NASCAR thread
I don't really care for the pair racing but, the finish was pretty cool. I'm glad Earnhardt Jr. did'nt win. I'm getting tired of everytime something has to do with Earnhardt Sr. then suddenly someone pulls a win out of their butt.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
One-two-three
Good enough for me. |
Re: NASCAR thread
FORD FTW. Dont care much for this butt buddy racing either but it might get interesting if they try it somewhere like Bristol.:23:
|
Re: NASCAR thread
So much for all the Chevy hype. I think I just found my driver to replace Kahne {since he left a Dodge team). It was great to see the Motorcraft car in victory lane.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
I heard on the radio that Glenn Beck was there for his first race.
Bet he had a blast. |
Re: NASCAR thread
Great to see that 21 car and the wood brothers, motorcraft back in victory lane,
|
Re: NASCAR thread
Certainly not what NASCAR had in mind! This is supposed to be a Govt. Motors series.`
My first thought as the 4th place car got greased was "1963." Then it was actually 1-2-3-4-5 Ford as another Woods Brothers 21 car won with a newcomer driving..... |

What a cool way to spend your 20th birthday weekend!
Congrats to the Ford guys, and especailly the Wood Bros. Team on showing all of the 'experts' what they know. And to all of the Gordon and Johnson and Big Ears fans... :butt: :borg: |
