Re: NASCAR thread
Best race of the year by far, and it REALLY upped my respect for Keselowski, showed good class for once after an amazing battle to the finish. I wish more races were liked that, then you got cry baby gordon whining about cautions when he won last week due to a caution that LITERALLY waited for the rain to come. Still pulling for edwards, some tracks coming up that he is really good at.
Looking forward to seeing the blue deuce as a Ford again, Brad gained a lot of respect back thats for sure, considering how he used to race ala edwards into the fence, he's come along ways! |
Re: NASCAR thread
I noticed they got rid of 3 of 4 grandstands in turn 3/4 at Michigan. The huge grandstand I was in they got rid of. Wicked Mark Martin crash. If that car had got inside of that retaining wall it would have mowed down alot of pit crews.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
He was lucky that it hit where it did. Otherwise he could have been really serious.
Too bad about Johnson's engine...not! :borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
I did'nt really want to see Johnson win again, and BOOM! That was great. I have'nt kept up with the points (not that it matters right now), but it's nice that Ford is 1,2.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
Bristol baby!! Nice helmet to the windshield Tony! That was funny. It was Stewart's fault anyway I thought.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
It did look like Stewrat was at fault. He was being the Stewrat of old. Hated that Carls car fell of as badly as it did, and then ran out of gas. D'Oh!
Nice 5th place run by Ambrose. :borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
That missed pit cue cost edwards sadly. 2 more races, if stewart keeps sucking the big one, edwards might make it on points! Hopefully he can win again at Atlanta next sunday night. Despite not having a Ford win, that was still an entertaining race last night that's for sure!
|
Re: NASCAR thread
No surprises for me in this race.
1. Pole Smoke Stewart re-confirmed he is a D-bag and way to act Mr. Sprint Champion. I would like to see a fine and I hope this race is the way all your remaining races go. 2. Danica failed to finish yet again. Who else thought that might happen....EVERYONE! I don't care who's fault it was, she crashed YET AGAIN!!! I was quietly hoping she would throw her helmet just so I could see her throw like a girl LOL I do like her because she is racking up those repair bills for Tony.... LOVE IT!!! |
Re: NASCAR thread
Guessing you hate stewart as much as me blown03? I was shocked Danika made it THAT far, me and my brother were placing bets on her being out by lap 50 lol. Stewart won't get a fine, he's nascar's fat love child.

Funny thing is everyone gave/gives Gordon crap saying he is gay, but can anyone show me a picture of Pole Smoke hans and hand or kissing a female other than his mom? Like you I kind of play a game similar to Pass Time and guess how long Danica will last... I usual guess very low, but never in the first two laps..I may need to change my thoughts on this.... |
Re: NASCAR thread
I was screaming at the tv for Danica to throw her helmet. I was gonna die laughing if she would have. I missed whatever pit screw up Edward's had. Man, did he drop like a rock at the end. Thanks to Sonoco E15 for him running out of gas. The last 100 or so laps of that race were the most entertaining I've seen at Bristol in quite awhile.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
Glad I wasn't the only one who was disappointed that Danica didn't giver her helmet a toss. (At least she could have used a different finger when she was pointing at the offending driver!)
Smokes actions may have made the highlight reel, but I hope he gets tagged with some kind of fine for acting out like he did. :borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
The commentators practically lulled the audience into thinking Truex had the race locked. Then the caution. Truex had himself beat right then and there. Even though he was pitting right along with everyone else, he had no confidence he was gonna win on a restart, so of course he screwed that up.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
^^Agreed. I'm glad Gil Martin is back with Harvick. Gives me a little hope for the Chase. I'm heading to Richmond on Saturday.
Im hoping Gordon gets denied access into a wildcard on Saturday. My buddies and I have a bet going this year. The highest finisher gets a 30 pack. The lowest finisher has to buy digger apparel and wear it out bar hopping. My buddy turtle is a die hard Gordon fan and everyone else already has drivers locked into the chase:) |
Re: NASCAR thread
It was an all around boring race. Bristol was pretty exciting to watch, Atlanta, not so much. Edwards is done sadly, he's not 100% knocked out but I highly doubt he'll make it. Guess I'll be cheering for the 16 and 17 teams with hoping the 99 team can get a win lol.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
No, it was'nt that exciting. I'm looking at the scrolling screen after 150 laps and 13 cars are on the lead lap. I nodded off a couple times, but I do like the night races. Looking forward to Richmond this weekend.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
In my eyes (as crappy as they are), the season could end now and I would be happy. Gordon took the last chase spot from Pee-Wee! Got to love it... Now we get to hear Pee-Wee whine for the rest of the season.
BTW props to Jr for assisting his team mate. |
Re: NASCAR thread
I can't believe they ran that race as late as they did, but I'm glad they did. I think the rain delays made it even more interesting. That caution around lap 280 turned everything on its ear.

a car that handled like doo doo. |
Re: NASCAR thread
After the 2nd rain delay I would have bet my Mach they would have canceled the race until today, but I just happened to turn it back to the race and shockingly they were restarting it. Saw the whole race and it was only about 10pm here. I luv the west coast time zone for sporting events.
That was incredible Bowyer went 123 laps on a tank of gas, especially when the other cars that pitted around the same time as him were pitting again. I think someone already mentioned this, but that sucks that Kenseth is going to the 'Yota side. He's been a Ford staple. |
Re: NASCAR thread
The way that race ended was just really weird, almost seemed fixed with how gordon somehow "magically" ended up front like that. Edwards team screwed themselves with pitting 5 laps before the rain fell. Whoever made that call should be fired lol.

Jeff Gordon, meet Clint Bowyer's pit crew.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
lmao And people wonder why I hate and have no respect for ANY hendrick's team, today proved exactly why. Go Blue Deuce! Hopefully Roush is putting time into their 2013 program, these past few months have been just terrible!
|
Re: NASCAR thread
So I'm watching the Cowboys lose to the Eagles and I'm taping the NHRA Finals....I switch over to the Nascar race and I see every one in the pits. I think it's a victory celebration and then I see Clint Boyer high-tailing it to the pits in a dead run............but all the cars are still on the track with a red flag.
After seeing the replays I think it was Boyer's fault BUT they were all blaming little Jeffy Gordon. :wtf: Big Ron  |
Re: NASCAR thread
Jeff purposely slowed down for clint to pass him and was going to wreck him either way clint went on the track. Rubbings racing, they rubbed a little then Gordon got all cry baby like that we have come to know. How Johnson and Brad were hitting eachother last week, that is good racing. Watching Kyle busch wreck Ron hornaday was different. Still think Gordon overreacted and BETTER be parked for next weekend.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
Clint Bowyer bumped into Gordon (just a typical racing incident). and Gordon got into the wall because of it. Gordon over-reacted and waited for Clint to catch up to him and intentially took him out. Big Ron, the last wreck that caused the big fight was Gordon fault by a long shot. Like I said, he over-reacted to a typical racing incident.
|
Re: NASCAR thread
Everyone thought Gordon was at the bottom of the pile (which I understand he likes), but he was actually pinned to the tool box by his own guys (again, a favorite of his) to protect hmi from Boyers crew. I did see a guy being walked off under his own power with a bloodied face. You also won't see a replay of the interview with Clints crew chief as he made a slip up that the newwork had to appoligize for. Probably see another fine for that as well.
:borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
I never saw Clint's crew chief swear? He was VERY close to it but bolted off before he did lol. They have every right to be p*ssed off, They had a legit shot at the title too...
|
Re: NASCAR thread
He did hold back a few times, but at the end of interview he said something to the effect of; there's no reason for this kind of bu!!s**t. As he walked off the reporter apologized for the words.
I'm not sure he had a realistic shot at the title, but the events of the day put him out of third place, and I'm sure the payday for foruth is not nearly as good as third, or especially second which became very much possablilty after JJ tagged the wall. :borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
Yeah, I heard him say the S word.

I over-reacted as I was trying to watch three events at the same time and couldn't keep up. I'll rewind the VCR today. Big Ron :28: |
Re: NASCAR thread
Nascar is like wrestling now. Its what the fans what to see and the way real racing was back in the day. Just trying to get people interested again. The fight was probably staged.
Having said that, I say 'why to go Jeff. Bout time you got some back bone'. |
Re: NASCAR thread
First off I would not say Bowyer had a REALISTIC **** at the championship. He has over produced in the chase as well as all season.
As for Jeff's actions, people have criticized him about not being aggressive enough and now that he took action he is getting criticized for too aggressive or just plain dumb. Should he have waited this late to hand Bowyer what he deserved for the previous 30 races, maybe not. But I for one loved every minute if it! Bowyer will now have to consul himself to the fact that maybe he needs to consider what may have been if I were not a jerk on the pavement. |
Re: NASCAR thread
Gordon gets docked 25 points and fined $100000, and for the EXACT same thing Kyle Busch did last year? Must be nice to be on the "untouchable" hendrick's organization. And what an ABSOLUTELY Bogus fine for Keselowski, $25k fine for having his cellphone in the car, excuse me, but wasn't his in car tweet from the Daytona 500 one of the BIGGEST things that happened to the sport this year? What a f***ing joke Nascar has become.

They probably gave him that fine for his outburst about the race on Speed where he was swearing lol. He was correct, the way that race was run was absolute s***, but could have toned down the swearing ;).

Re: NASCAR thread
Brad, as I recall, has been shown doing this exact same thing a year or so ago during a red flag. No repercussions then, but now he's called the powers down for their acitons, or lack of. I thought the same thing he did, as well as the newscasters, when Danica was spun. they should have called an immedite yellow for safety sake. I suspect they were red/yellow flagged out since they had just come off of the Gordon delay. The pile up on the last lap shpuld have never happened.
:borg: |
Re: NASCAR thread
Yup, the Daytona 500, he tweeted an in-car view from the back stretch during the red flag. It blew up for him with huge publicity for him and for nascar. They just didn't like a drive calling them on what everyone agreed on. This one was different from watkins glen, that is a road course with minor amounts of oil on it, this was a HIGH SPEED oval track with only 4 turns, that was a dumb decision, didn't change the winner outcome, but definitely hurt a few people in that one.

Re: NASCAR thread
Anyone but Jimmie Johnson. AND Penske will be driving Fords next year, maybe they will give Roush the much needed kick in the arse that they need!
