Bilstein Shock & Strut Package (94-04)

Hey,
I was thinking about getting the Bilstein Shock & Strut Package (94-04) from www.mustangtuning.com, for my 03 mach 1. I was curious to see if anyone got it done and if they liked it. help.

Thanks.

I have bilstein HD shock/strut kit for my 03 mach which is lowered on steeda sport springs. I love the setup. The ride is just a little more firm than stock but the bilsteins give you great control. I got mine through stangsuspension.

Do u have stock wheels. cause iv heard people say that if i lower the car the wheel well will overlap the tire and not look right. ( $1500 plus install. is it worth it. really)

1500? Where are you looking at? The strut/shock package runs about 600 or less everywhere i know of. Stangsuspension has it for 528 http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...?idproduct=842 its the route i'm going when i do my coilovers, i just hear great things about them and the performance/comfort mix seems just about right.

I used the Bils with the stock springs for a while and it worked well. But the bug bit again so I got some MM R&T springs and now it's great! If you are 1/2 way mechanically inclined you can do the install yourself.

Going off a little bit but how are these compared to the Tokico D-Specs? And does anyone have the D-Specs..Opinions? Sorry no mean to hijack the thread, just I was looking at both of these.

I have the same setup on my 04 and love them. You should get CC plates also. Are your old struts shot or are you going to lower the car? IMO there is no reason to just change the struts unless the stockers are going bad. The bilsteins are great but the difference in handling between them and the stockers probably aren't worth the expense unless you are going to change the springs out too. You can spend the money on other suspension mods like full length subrame connectors, better LCA etc...

Anyway, changing just the struts out is super easy. Changing out the springs is a bit more complicated but the struts just bolt in at the top and bottom. Just need 1/2" drive socket set, box wrenches, jackstands and floorjack.

I have D-Specs and I really like'm. I'd do a search for more info on the D-Specs. There are several here that have them and with different springs, ect. You will also need to cut holes in the trunk liner to access the rear shocks to make adjustments. I have posted some tips for this and others as well.

There are many post on the D-Specs. Here is one that has pictures so you can see what I mean about the trunk liner and holes to cut.

I replaced Tokico 5 way adjustables with the Bilstiens and haven't looked back. The ride is far better.

I think you'll really like them!!

Yep, Bilstein coil over kit in front and Bilsteins out back. Very happy!!!

Stangsuspension.com has everything you need :HOPPY:

I had Bilsteins front and back with stock springs and they rode very nice and performed well. Now I have the Maximum Motorsports k-member kit in the front running coilovers with the same bilsteins and couldn't be happier (the rear is still stock with bilstein shocks).

1500? Your getting ripped off lol.

Re: Bilstein Shock & Strut Package (94-04)

So get the shock and strut package for 600 or less. dont I need springs and all the other **** to have a complete coilover package. look at stangsuspension.com and look at coil over packages. it says 1500 for bilstein package.

Re: Bilstein Shock & Strut Package (94-04)

Lol I think we were under the impression you were just getting the struts themselves. Yes, you do need all the other stuff if you're going to run coilovers.

You never mentioned anything about coil overs. A little bit of info goes a long way. Your link should go to the item you want to talk about, not the home page of the store.

Bilsteins are good quality and nice ride. I have them with steeda sport springs and they are not too stiff, not too soft, just right. The MM-bilstein coilover package is the best, if you can afford it.

I also recommend Bilsteins
