There is a Strong Possibility That I Will Be Starting a Mach 1 Collection

I really like the 2021 model. I currently have an '03 black, non-IUP, manual car that I bought to replace my original '03 azure blue, IUP, manual one. Side note - I am in touch with the owner of my blue '03, so maybe someday it will come back to me.

I've been a fan and owner of the current generation Mustang since 2014, when I got a 2015 GT. In 2018, I traded it for a 2019 Bullitt. The S550 is a heck of a car.

I have followed the rumors of an S550 Mach 1 for a long time. After it was fully introduced this week, I was not missing a shaker or disappointed with the engine output. I know this is a different interpretation. However, seeing what Ford put into the car to make a legacy of speed in keeping with "Mach", I decided if the stars (and my bank account align), I would get one.

Some things I like about the newest Mach -
1) Tremec manual
2) automatic option available (of course)
3) Fighter Jet Gray color
4) orange stripe highlights and Brembo brake calipers
5) cloth seat availability
6) technology adapted from the GT350 and GT500
7) additional handling capability for track rats
8) global audience
9) base platform's inherent handling capability
10) the fact we are still getting a V8 engine in these days of battery tech

I am eager to see the order guide because I am strongly considering a base Mach 1 with the Appearance Package (Fighter Jet Gray, orange strip accents, orange Brembos) with an automatic transmission.

All of my other Mustangs are manuals, but back when the '03-'04s came out, I remember hearing about the appeal of the automatic and it being part of the Mach 1 heritage.

This thread will serve as my accountability statement to see if I really do it. Hahaha!

I liked this article. Nick Terzes, who worked on the '03-'04s and on the new one, was quoted in it.

Tony,

No worries here. I think it will be a solid car when you look at all those things in the +++ column.

The more I read over the specs and reason out some of Ford's decisions I can understand why the power is not where it should be (imho), why they did not go with the Shaker etc...

I have listened to a few videos of hard core haters of this car, how Ford did us all wrong by building an underwhelming car vs. what they could have built, to the ones who are already drooling to get one.

It will still be a Mach 1. Like our 03-04 cars it takes a lot from the bullitts.
It will be a parts bin car, but that's okay as long as the parts are legit...Like our cars.

Having driven the pp1 for a year I can tell you how amazed I am with the car. it is just more capable then I could have hoped.

The New Mach will be all that my PP1 is and more. And that's a good thing.

I will get over my disappointment on the engine choice...

And since I read it will not be limited in production, it could be around a few years...I don't know. Not ruling it out...but...price will dictate a lot...

I hope you do get yours and enjoy the heck out of it...and I hope you are not going to have to sacrifice any of the others to get it...

There's no doubt this will be a great Mustang. I love the suspension additions. Originally, I kinda wanted Ford to go for more of a straight line or drag racing inspired Mustang, but I think all that is unpopular nowadays. I actually like the way the hood looks. I was hoping for a 71-73 Mach look. My only concern was that I don't like fake scoops or vents, so I'm really hoping they are working vents on this hood. I'm still not sure if I'm a fan of the wheels yet, but there's plenty of time yet before we can actually see them. I think I would go for the 10spd auto too. I really like how great it is and my wife would be able to drive it LOL. I must say, depending on the price, I would like go for a used GT350. I really hope you can get one in your stable, Tony!

Tony, my choice for a 2021 Mach 1 would be fighter jet grey with both handling and appearance package upgrades, looks a mean beast.:eyebrows:

I am sure it will be great, but prices are just stupid anymore. You can pay more for options now than cars use to cost.

I bet it would be a good looking car. The Mach 1 is my S550 now, if I ever got one. Looks great, and I’m sure it’d be a very good performer.

Pick your poison.

Thought I heard the Fighter Jet Gray was not an option on the base model.
