Problem with Russell SS front brake line install, could be banjo bolts

The dealership I went to says the banjo bolts are too long for the new stainless steel lines they are trying to install in the front. It is making the brake caliper squeeze down on the rotor while driving. They say the fix is a shorter banjo bolt, or put stock lines back on. Problem is they do not have any in stock, and need me to find out where to get them. I checked with autozone, they dont have the part. Anyone know where to look or how to fix?

Just called maryland performance, and they said the kit may be the wrong part #. I have part # 693170, which is for the 96-01 Cobra. I did read somewhere on here on another thread where that was the part #

Not sure but I think I read somewhere on here that some of them (banjo) are left/right specific/ Have they tried that?

You may want to try and double check that part #, and if you have the stock banjo bolts, compare the thread pitch.

That Russell does appear to be for 96-01 cobra, which I believe is the metric 10mm x 1.0 thread pitch.

But, I believe for '04 Ford went to a 10mm x 1.5 thread pitch.

Check out MM site and you'll see they have to different sets of stainless steel lines for the fronts.

However, if you're sure you got the right thread pitch for the bolts, how about some thicker copper gasket for the banjo bolt.

I have those brake lines. The problem I had was the crush washers that came with them were too thin. About half as thin as the stock ones. Try getting new stock crush washers or reuse the old ones.
