Bullitt...up for auction

Re: Bullitt...up for auction
I would not sell it. It should be on permanent display in the Mustang Museum.
Let’s hope the new owner will keep it as is and pay proper tribute to the car... |
Re: Bullitt...up for auction
Agreed. Either at the Mustang Museum or the Smithsonian.
Just wonder how much the check is going to have be to take it home? :borg: |
Re: Bullitt...up for auction
Actually surprised Ford has not jumped on it...

Re: Bullitt...up for auction
I’m sure his dad is rolling over in his grave! I hope it goes to a museum or a collector who will cherish it.

Re: Bullitt...up for auction
That is pretty neat.. Curious of the price tag as well..

Probably going to be the most expensive muscle purchase ever. Everything he had has turned to gold. His GT40 which wasn’t anything special other than him owning it, and besides it being a GT40, sold for 4 million more than the GT40 Prototype.
Pick your poison. |
Re: Bullitt...up for auction
Its last public appearance before going to auction (from what the promoter is claiming) is going to be at the Somernites Cruise in Somerset, Kentucky on August 24th, 2019.
That just happens to be 80 miles from my house, so I'm headed that way! I'll try to get photos of the car, if they allow me to. |

Re: Bullitt...up for auction
I can't blame him for selling it, we all want to pay homage to an iconic car. But in reality, if you owned it what would you do. The money it will bring is life changing, and I am sure it is stressful having to worry about it being stolen or damaged. The car world sees it as more than the sum of its parts, but in the end it is a tired 68 fastback Mustang. You could always say you owned it as you park your new Ford GT in your new eight car garage!

Re: Bullitt...up for auction
I'd sell it in a heartbeat. I would then be able to buy more cars and probably remodel my garage LOL. That's a no-brainer in my eyes.

It was really cool to see the car in person. The owner even signed a poster for me before they send it off to auction.
