What am I missing?

Aside from Elec. WP, and Headers what am I missing from being "full bolt-on"?

FRPP DS
FRPP Clutch Quadrant
FRPP Clutch Adjuster
FRPP C Springs
FRPP Shift knob (I know, no perf)
FRPP FR500 Steering Wheel (I know, no perf)
FRPP 4.10
FRPP girdle cover
FRPP upper control arms
FRPP lower control arms
FRPP 90MM LMAF housing
3/8in spacer
JLT RAI
Cobra 10th Anni wheels
MGW Shifter
Steeda FLSFCs
BBK catted X-pipe
Borla Stinger catback
SCT
Nazty ported intake
March Dampener/WP Pulleys
CobraR Power Steering/Alt Pulleys
Accufab twin 60mm TB
Shaker Air diverter(I know not really a perf mod)

Changes to above:

1/2-3/4 intake spacer

Control arms - Not FRPPs but MM lowers and if adjustable Steeda adjustable uppers.

No need for a FRPP 90MM LMAF housing

No need for C-Springs - Stock Mach springs are very good with a 1/2 inch drop compared to GT.

No pullies just Electric water pump.

Remove the vibration dampener from the rearend diff housing.

Remove the quad shocks

Headers - Yes

Electric Waterpump - Yes

+1.........I have aftermarket lca and ucas........what does removing the quad shock do?

Is there anything it can hurt by removing the quad shocks?

I just did a little searching and found the quad shocks are there to prevent wheel hop due to the factory control arms having rubber bushings. Most people say if you have good UCA & LCA's with poly bushings you can remove the quad shocks and not have to worry about wheel hop. I'm still not sure what the benefits are other than being able to clear wider wheels. I've also read that replacing worn quad shocks will help keep the rear end planted to the ground on a launch and give better control while accelerating turning.

Re: What am I missing?

thermostat

coilpacks

cobra intake cams

Gt fuel pump

24# injectors

lose the cats

alum flywheel

egr delete

breathers---keep the crap out of the engine(not pref but reduces detonation)

Tarball 04-22-2009 09:04 PM

Re: What am I missing?

Cams arn't a bolt-on, and how will any of that besides Alum fly wheel help me?

EGE delete = does nothing
Coil pack... WHY
Pump/injectors, wont help
Cats already coming off when headers go on
Thermo - temps are already good.

Removing quad shocks = a bolt-OFF

"upgrade drive shaft" - its the first thing on the dang list...

changing thermostat provides nothing in newer vehicles(in older cars they helped), they are suppose to run at the temp that is controlled by the factory thermostat

been proven several times over that the factory coil packs are far superior in performance than aftermarket(do a search on the weaponX coils and DanB or M1M)

diggin into the heads leans away from being considered a bolt-on. also gains on those are not worthy unless u already have everything torn apart and can't afford some comp/crower cams

mach1's come with 24lb injectors stock, and the GT pump wont help out unless he is throwin a shot of nitrous or adding boost to the engine, stock pump is good to ~350-360rwhp i believe

coilpacks Will pick up gains on an N/A car, do some research

cobra intake camsAlmost every car on Top of the bolt-on horsepower list are running these camsThere factory cams you can even run in factory stock

Gt fuel pump Stocks pumps are weak, How is a good pump gonna hurt?

24# injectors Oops, I forget we had them stock

lose the cats probably 8hp here alone

alum flywheel Obvious

egr delete #1 Not pumping exhaust in your intake hurts performance? #2 If the hot exhaust and EGR are not touching the intake, the intake temp will lower

breathers---keep the crap out of the engine(not pref but reduces detonation)

Just common sense on most of these, do what you want. You wanted opinions, I gave mine.
