Draw thru vs Blow thru MAF
 

What's the best way to go on a FMICed S trim setup? Also which MAF is best for this application? A local tuner loves the ba5000 slot style, I have a LMAF right now but wasn't sure about using a draw thru on a intercooled setup. Thought about using the LMAF and a mafia or selling the LMAF and picking up a better blow thru style maf.

Blow through. Most reputable tuners will have you convert to that even if you go to them with draw through.

That's what I was figuring, is there any maf better suited for a blow thru?

For an S Trim, I think the MAF you have will be fine. I used a PRO-M 95 MM MAF when I was running 18 PSI.

I thought the LMAF would only support 400ish pm a blow thru? Im planning to make 500+.

You'll just need to use a MAF.i.a. I don't see your MAF Counts getting out of control with 500+. I'm pretty sure the LMAF with a MAF.i.a. has made over 700 before through a manual. Certainly wouldn't do it through an auto.

I just got off the phone wiht my tuner and he highly recommended selling th LMAF and going with the BA5000 he said its easier to tune with. so i may just sell the LMAF.

Many tuners are starting to lean towards the slot style maf.. it seems to be a cleaner reading and quicker responce.. at least thats what the tuner I know says..
