Deepest sounding setup?

What's the deepest sounding setup with just an off-road midpie and catback/weld in mufflers?

I've got an off-road BBK X pipe that I haven't installed yet and I've seen videos on youtube and I think it's a bit too raspy for my taste. That's probably with all the X-pipes.

Is anything deeper than a mac h-pipe or prochamber with a mac catback or flowmaster original 40's welded in?

Tanks for the input.

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

i would assume flowmasters and a prochamber would be about as deep as you could get without sacrificing sound quality. i prefer the sound of an x pipe.....nothing beats the sound of longtubes, o/r x, and nearly no mufflers!

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

I think a prochamber with a quailty chambered CB is the best sounding exhaust note.

I did run an MRT catted H with MRT MaxThunder Catback and it was a deep awesome sound. However they don't make the excat muffer I have anymore so not sure how the new maxthunders compare.

Look into the SSS catback, it sounds good nice and deep. Also it costs less then most systems do and has great build quality.

Sounds like you'll probably want a H pipe.

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

your going to need a o/r hpipe, some sort of h-pipe set up for sure. also slp lm1's will make it also extreme loud with that. i have bassani and its loud also really loud, but i'm putting single chamber flows on shortly and its going to be way louders.

the xpipe does give them a raspy sound i hate it

When you put on the flows, are you gonna sell the Bassani? If so, pm me because I might still be in the market.

I agree it will need to be an H-pipe/chambered catback setup. Prochamber and Flows would prob win this one.

I think the raspy sound of an x is where its at. but to each their own!

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

that was my whole deal when doing a mid-pipe, i don't mind hearing the x-pipe sound but i like how the h-pipe sounds better and its my mach so i should have it sounding how i like and do it how i like, like you said to each there own. i'll be uploading for sure what the o/r hpipe and single chamber flows sound like on here, i know there will be a few that don't like it, but some will, but it will be the fact that it sounds good to me and i've heard what it already sounds like and i love it.

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

I had an off-road setup on my Durango R/T with super 40's.

Same setup on my 5.0L notchback. With an H pipe.

I'll try out the x-pipe on my Mach but I have a feeling I'll be going to an H-pipe after that.

My only dilemma at that point will be MAC catback or original 40's......

Thanks for the input guys.

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

the member on here reloaded, might want to pm him, he has the prochamber with single chamber flows, if you look for the thread single chamber flows, you might see the link to his, some close videos of what it sounds like and there is another guy. you can hear what it sounds like. for n/a i think single chambers are a bad ideal but for F/I cars i don't see the prob for. good luck

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

another set-up that was loud was o/r h-pipe with slp lm1's. oh boy does it sound good. i love it and would love to have mine like that but i didn't really want to spend a but load on another CB system. mufflers ran me $80 total shipped and the slp tips cost me $61 shipped total

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

You know, a lot of people say the x-pipe isn't deep, but everytime I'm going through the gears next to a larger car and the sound reflects off it.... down low (1000-2500/3000) my Packs are pretty **** deep, and then above that it starts getting into that loud exotic type sound. That's one thing I love about the x-pipe is the variety of sound you get. Low and deep down low, high and loud up top.

That's why I'm trying it out. I've got an offroad BBK X-pipe that I'm going to put on as soon as I put the car on the road. If I don't care for it too much, I'll switch to an H-pipe.

I try to look for local deals.

I got the X-pipe for $100 Canadian. Only used 1 summer so I figured I can't go wrong with that. If I don't like it, I'm pretty sure I can sell it for the same amount if not more locally :)

Re: Deepest sounding setup?

I had an O/R Pro Chamber and welded in Flowmasters on my old GT and it was deep.

I have an O/R Pro Chamber with an SLP LMI on the Mach, its decently deep too and alot louder than the flowmaster setup was, with no drone.

I think the flowmasters had a bit more volume at idle than the SLP but if you get on the SLP it would make the flowmaster curl up and hide in the corner.
