What's needed is an intake that covers the rpm between the Sullivan and the stock intake. Something that would provide peak power around 7200 without killing low- and mid-range power.

The smaller cams had 224deg dur, only 10 degrees less duration than the 106400s and made just as much peak and more mid range. In a stock rotating assembly engine that is about all that is needed...

Advancing the cams a few degrees does increase DCR but only very little, the power gain comes mostly from the intake valve being open much further early in the intake...

This is the reason that a lower lobe center (LC) works well much better than a higher LC. However, advancing both cams and leaving...
