Re: Car died this morning...

Welp sold it yesterday.

It was a sad day for me and the wife to see it on the trailer and whisked away, but I'm just going to build up the slush fund all over again to get another Stang in a...

Re: Car died this morning...

This is getting off topic now but the Stang was mostly a sunny day fun car. We have two other newer cars for commuting (Fusion and Escape). MACh is paid off and low mileage so wanted to just keep...

Re: Car died this morning...

That and we've already dumped a bunch of money into it back in '09 to rebuild the shortblock and add various other stuff like cams, LT headers, tune. It's getting close to what I paid for the car...

Re: Car died this morning...

It seems like an awful lot to me also and it's adding up fast, (I'm already into it a few hundred just for towing and diagnosis), which is why I'm more inclined to cut my loses at this point. I...

Re: Car died this morning...

They did all the work, but looks like more of a part failure to me at least. I know now the word is not good on Comp springs.

At this point I think I'm looking to just sell the car and move...

Re: Car died this morning...

*UPDATE*

Well I heard from the shop and the news wasn't good.

They did all the tests...valve spring on #8 cylinder broke, causing valve to hit piston which is all the noise you can hear. ...

Re: Car died this morning...

Well it's life so don't get sad.

After a real shitty day I still got to go home and play with my 6 week old.

I just can't believe I might be without a Mustang for the first time in...

Re: Car died this morning...

Well it's at the dealer and now they wanted to start nickle and diming me to take the oil pan off, remove the passenger side valve cover and such so it seems more serious than an alternator or a coil...

Re: Car died this morning...

What are the symptoms of a bad alternator? Just stalling? It starts up then stalls after a second or 2. To my untrained ear, there is a horrible sound coming from the motor like in the rear or...

Re: Car died this morning...

Must be.

I'm going back and forth on it...might just say f it and cut my loses at this point. I can try to sell it to one of the mechanics who were checking it out at the dealer. I think...

Re: Car died this morning...

Thanks guys, I'm trying to stay positive about the whole thing. We're fortunate to have 2 other cars so I'm not completely screwed here. Mustang was just a sunny day car for me.

I'm going to...

Re: Car died this morning...

I will.

I'm still in shock.

Just waiting to hear from the dealer (it was the closest to where I broke down) on a diagnosis. But I'm most likely going to arrange to have it towed to the...

Re: disadvantages of ported intake and cams?

I was thinking exactly the same thing. :D

Re: "Torquer" Short Runner Intake VS Stock
