Died as is no power at all? ie no lights acc etc? Or the engine dies and there is still battery and the starter still cranks?

Are there any mods on the car?

First suspect for idle issues is always idle air control valve. ( assuming the car has power) two 8mm bolts and some carb cleaner to give it a little rehab.
From there I move to checking connections. Cleaning maf ( no car or brake clean here, use electrical connection cleaner or maf cleaner, others are to harsh and carb cleaner will leave residue)

Any engine light?
