Leaking valve cover gaskets
Anyone else have leaking valve cover gaskets? I only have about 31,500 miles on my 03 MACH1. I understand that Ford used cork gaskets up to 03 on the 4.6L before switching to silicone. I got a $1,541 repair estimate from my ford dealer but they agreed to a $832 estimate from "Your Mechanic" website. That's still a lot. Any comments?

Re: Leaking valve cover gaskets
At first I was really surprised by your post, but working at a Ford dealership I thought I could investigate for you. Jump on the $800, it's a deal! Looks like that's warranty pay rate, we show 7.7 hours customer pay for the job, and that doesn't include parts (about $90). Apparently you have to evacuate and recharge the A/C system, so I'm guessing there are hoses to be disconnected. So you'd be looking at north of $1350 plus taxes and fees at a dealership, so go for it!
