let the fun start oil pan and motor mounts and then some

So took the Cobra to a shop to have them check out where the oil dripping was coming from, thought it was the oil cooler, but turns out (and this is what they told me) the motor mounts went to crap and poked a hole in the oil pan. After talking over price for parts and labor it came out to over $2000 bones and I was and just for labor on putting a new oil pan in was $878, I started thinking that this would be a lot cheaper if I just did the job myself, lucky I'm retired and do not need the car for daily driving. Started talking with TKat13 and pretty much going to get a motor brace and do it in the garage.
so right now the list of items is
-Canton oil pan
-new gasket
-new motor mounts
-looking at doing a K-member but keep stock springs and not run coil overs.

Fixin to order parts tonight. Update the list as I go
TKat13 did ask how the motor mounts poked a hole in the oil pan, well I don't know, just relaying the message I got from the shop. Will see as I get into this fun deal.

before you order all that, go jack the car up and look for yourself. The whole thing just sounds off

wtf changing the oil pan is very easy. do it yourself. motor mounts too very easy to change.

the car is at the shop and I am going to go ahead and order parts, either way its a win that those parts will be going on. I'll for sure see once I start taking everything off.

Careful with the Canton pan. I am in the middle of putting a stock pan on after not realizing the Canton pan I bought was not flush in the back. Oil poured out after running the new engine. Check quality before installing!

make sure you know where to put the dabs of silicone/rtv on the pan as well

so any other suggestions on new parts I should get while i'm in this area? open to hear
TKat13 already suggested LT's, but i'm not going to push my luck with the Wifie
Thought about doing CC plates, stock thingy are just ugly
also thought about adding nice aftermarket end links. used ones from MM on my mach, felt way better when driving,
also did them on my 13 GT and like em. so the Cobra should also get them.

I'm not wanting to go coil overs, so that is why I did not get a whole front coil over kit, wanting the K-member for dropping a little weight, but mainly because will be easier when dealing with under the car (on future parts) and it just looks way better over the stock one.
went ahead and did the a-arms, because guys said they had a little problems getting the stock a arm to fit right and thought, go ahead and do the a arm since i'll be there and can still run springs.

not looking to turn the Cobra into a crazy handling beast, so am not worried about upgrading front sway bar.

Update: looks like both motor mounts went to crap and the motor shifted over which cause the oil pan to hit up against something and cause it to start leaking

Also guy pointed out rear lca bushings is starting go bad so will replace those while it's on stands
Looking for good used ones or just good simple replacement set.

any stock type rear arms I was coming across all have rotted out bushings that I saw. These cars are old enough youre gonna need to replace em

BTW I forgot to say that the shop did call and did tell me that there is a coolant leak and if I wanted to get a pressure test, then come on back and get it done, because there is a leak somewhere, so I said no thanks and I'll do my own test, because of that, that is another reason I wanted this coolant pressure tester. Also being a 98 Cobra, some of the hoses or something to do with the coolant system could be cracking or going bad. So before I get into it and need to order parts and because I'm going to have it all pulled apart I made another order to LMR. This is all that I'm getting and I still have not spent what it would have cost this shop to just do this stock replacement stuff. I'm done I believe besides new coolant, oil, and oil filter.

from some of the shipping info, looks to be that some stuff won't get here till the 26th, which is fine.
Looks like for now, I can get the car prep, by getting the Cobra on jackstands, pull the rims off and draining coolant and oil out (which is added to my list of new)
Got to check out my points of where the motor brace is going to be hooking up at. Anyone have a picture or link to the correct spots?
also can go ahead and undo the struts and all that good stuff. Also go ahead and pull the unbolt for changing out the rear LCAs. Might be buying another floor jack. One for the Kmember and one for the rear end, can't hurt to have two of them.

UPDATE: after a exhausted search for uca bushing and factory replacement bushings for the axle, I got it done and bought.
so adding to the list
-UPR non-adj uca
-factory replacement axle bushings.

since this will be the first oil change for the Cobra, going to run royal purple oil and filter. will check for good price on RP, probably just autozone or one of those places.
