Dad encourages fight, charged with child abuse

These kids were waiting outside the house to jump on the kid.....at HIS house and the father gets in trouble for cheering his son on. Since the other kids were from another school, they would have to some distance apart. But yet the dad gets charged with child abuse and can no longer live with his son? Dont know if his parents were divorced or not.

Maybe not the best thing to do but not allowing him to live with his kids is crazy. I would think this had gone on for a while. The dad was probably tired of all it. Time to move to another state or something.

Re: Dad encourages fight, charged with child abuse

The justice system is out of control. Now if the father came out after the kids who were going to jump his kid he would be getting charged for that. It wasn't the greatest thing to do, but come on. Never had my father cheer me on in a fight, but was always told to stand up for yourself and if their bigger then you pick something up. What ever happened to warning people instead of charging them with everything in the book.

Re: Dad encourages fight, charged with child abuse

REminds me of when my dad dropped my sister off at a ditch to go fight some girl. The girl didn't show so my sister went to the girls house and started knocking on the door. Cops ended up asking my dad what he was thinking of when he dropped my sister off. Dad told them it was better than fighting at school and if she got her *** kicked maybe she would learn a lesson. I guess that solution is not a good one anymore.

Maybe the dad should have kept his son inside the house and called the police. Sure would have saved a lot of grief.
Just my $.02.

Sometimes you have to fight. No matter what certian whack jobs think there are times that it is the right course of action. Every fight I was every in except one I became friends with the other person.

I'm guessing the judge has a control issue. His judgement is further out of line than what the father did. I do think the father should have been fined for what he said. His comments went too far. The only good thing is I doubt Jake will be bothered anymore.

Re: Dad encourages fight, charged with child abuse

Dad was arrested in 2005 for domestic violence. He beat his wife at least once (on record that is known), and is on tape telling his son to gouge another kid's eyes and slam his head against the sidewalk.

Trust me, the judge isn't the one with the problem.

I feel the same way, defending yourself is one thing but to encourage brutal violence is another.
