finally got the nerve
I totalled my 'puta' in February.
It has taken me a while to be able to talk about it because it was an emotional thing for me. I am glad my account is still here but I probably will not post much anymore. I couldn't bring myself to keeping the car to part her out, too emotionally invested and would have felt the pain for every piece of her I took off. I wish I could have afforded to fix the car but I am lucky I even have a job and I don't know how long that will last. anyway, I see a Mach here and there and I wave at them tho they must think I am a nut when she was alive: stay safe everybody also - belated thanks for birthday wishes

Re: finally got the nerve
hard acceleration at about 60 must have hit a smooth spot on the dry asphalt road as she spun to redline before I could get off her, she gyro'd off the road into a bunch of trees
no one hurt, my hand a litlle but it's been hurt worst working on her

Re: finally got the nerve
Glad no one was hurt. The back of these cars can really step out without warning. Any plans to buy another mustang.

Re: finally got the nerve
I could have done it. I woould have but my situation at the time was and is pretty iffy.
May do it when the 2011 32V cars come down.

Re: finally got the nerve
sorry to hear about your loss, glad you didn't get hurt.
on my personal note, several times i have told my wife the Mach is just a car and can be replaced. but in the 3 years i've had the thing she has never driven it once because she is scared to death if something happens while she is behind the wheel she thinks i would never forgive her. even she knows there is more than a dollar value. hope you get back in a Mustang saddle soon. there's been a lot for sale here on the registry. |

Re: finally got the nerve
Had the same thing happen to me in a Z28. Over $13k damage and they fixed it. I traded the car before it was fixed. I loved that car. Had 9 coats of zanio on her the day it happened. I saw it about 3 yrs later and whoever bought, hasnt taken care of it the way I did. I literally almost cried. Yea I know, stupid, its just a car but I was attached to it. Still miss it to this day.
Anyways, glad youre werent hurt and you know you can hang around, even if you re machless. |

Re: finally got the nerve
That's why I haven't seen you on the road lately. I still see a Black and Red one on 1431 once or twice everyweek.
Maybe I'll see you in a 5.0 at a meet shortly. Take care.

Re: finally got the nerve
Dang I was just wondering the other day how your stock 100k+ mile engine was handling the supercharger in this heat. I see now it mustve still been alive enough to careen you off the road at 60mph. Bummer.

Re: finally got the nerve
Happy you came out of it OK, I punched it on a roll and when it shifted into 2nd the tach buried past 7000 I got out of it fast nothing happened, this also happened on the drag strip once must have hit an oil spot.
I now drive all the time with soft drag radials and never on wet roads. stock tires suck. heck, I don't even have wipers on. Going on 9 years and never caught in the rain. Bill
