dash display

Is the mileage stored in the dash display or the ECM? If you purchase a new dash display how do you get the correct mileage in odometer?

Re: dash display

Thanks for that info. I contacted a local Ford dealer and they said the same thing. However when I asked the person selling a used dash display on Ebay they said it was in the dash display. It makes sense it would be in the ECM but I did not want to take the chance. The car I recently purchased has a GT auto dash in it and I need to return it to original.

Re: dash display

I don't know exactly where the information is stored, but I do know that if you swap the circuit boards on the back of the instrument cluster, everything works just fine!

Re: dash display

I purchased a used dash display. When I installed it the car will not start. Is it not plug and play? What did do wrong or fail to do? Thanks in advance, Mike.
