i have h&r ss.. i need new shocks and struts.. but i need some for lowered machs.. .

which to buy?

I am also going to buy MM lca's so i can raise the rear a bit. i want more of a rake. right now the rear is sagging very badly. not sure why. but either broken shocks or something.

what do you guys think?

Well I only have experience with the Tokico D-specs, but I'm very happy with them and would definitely recommend them. I know someone here recently posted a really good price from a seller on ebay. I bought mine on ebay too, in early 07, which had the best price around.

The adjustability is just a nice thing to have. I don't mess with them very often, but I've put them to use road racing as well as the drag strip. Plus occasionally I change them for the street. The difference between full soft and firm is dramatic, so you can really get the car to ride how you like best. Making adjustments is also simple, just pop the hood and trunk and they're right there.

If sagging is the only reason you're thinking about the LCAs I think I'd wait until after putting new shocks in. As far as I've seen the SS springs always have a rake if you have all the isolaters in. Your shocks may just be done.

bilsteins, konis, d specs, there all good and will work with those springs.

personally ive always ran koni double adjustables.

I personally run Bilstein HD's with my H&R SS's. I love them. I have also heard Koni's are great if you want something adjustable.

My friend had D specs on his car (Not a Mustang) and all he had was trouble. The adjustments were ridiculously hard to turn and they road like hell.

I've never heard of anything like this. Obviously they were defective or there was user error involved (though I don't know what someone could do wrong). I suppose the model for whatever car it is could just suck, but seems doubtful. The adjustment should not be hard at all, it's just a little knob you turn left or right, no harder to turn than the volume knob in a car. And I can make my car float like a boat or so so stiff you feel like your going to snap your spine, and anywhere in between.

Ya I understand it how it works. In the rear it was ridiculously hard to turn. He got a replacement one when he broke one and that one did the same thing.

i mean are they good for lowered machs. not all shocks and struts are correct for lowered cars right? doesnt it make them not give in as much like normal?

like my shocks and struts are stock. so they are compressed 2" and do not work as well as they used to as stock height...

the shocks are not working well because they are not designed for the higher sprint rate.

they still have plenty of travel....
