Hood issue

The front passenger side of my hood is almost a 1/2 inch to high when closed. The alignment looks terrible to me. The car was not wrecked. I tried to lower the black stopper on that side, but it was not even touching the hood. I then tried to lower the latch assembly to pull the hood down tighter. I took the two 8mm bolts out of it, and found out there is no adjustment on the latch. My shaker is not raised, and no intake spacer yet. Anybody have any ideas?

Re: Hood issue

Did you check for cracks in the hood itself?

Re: Hood issue

You could try raising the driver side stop a bit to lower the passenger side. If this is something new (not that way when you bought it) then it could be warped. Check the clearance around the shaker and make sure it is uniform on both sides.

Re: Hood issue

there was a recall on earlier mustangs (99-01?) for hood seperation. check with your dealer before doing anything else. if they see that someone was monkeying around with it they could tell you to go pound salt!
