Question lower and upper control arms

Hey guys I was wondering witch brand i should go with for my control arms. Hotchkis, QA1, or maximum motor sport. My mach is my DD, i just do a little of street racing . Im looking for something thats built with good quality and will last a good long time, so if you guys know of something better let me know. Im also installing H&R Race Springs along with Bilstein shocks/struts.

Re: lower and upper control arms

Stock uppers and MM standard duty lowers and don't let anyone tell you any different but you will get plenty of opinions.

Re: lower and upper control arms

I really like the steeda 3 part bushing control arms, the MM ones are also very similar and good, Whatever you get just make sure it has a 3 piece bushing on the chassis side as most do not.

Yup, this guy knows. Or if you can swing it, I'd go MM lowers, remove one stock upper control arm, and add the MM panhard bar.

I went with the same recipe but change one ingredient, I used Wolfe race craft lowers.

I'm running stock uppers and MM heavy duty lowers.

This is a great recipe for decent all around performance.

When I replaced my control arms, I went with CHE Performance lowers, uppers, and aluminum spherical rear end housing bushings. It was a big difference over stock and had great straight line performance. The lateral grip was decent as well but it would step out hard to either side with very little warning. Way too much binding in the suspension. I am ditching the uppers all together as soon as I can install my MM panhard bar and torque arm.

And that's why MM recommends leaving the stock uppers in place.

My car will not fish tail anymore, whatsoever, with these lowers. Found that out last week when I was intentionally trying to get sloppy. Car wouldn't do it.

Re: lower and upper control arms

Well, as usual I guess I am the dumba** with UPR upper and lowers, so as usual I have bought the wrong s***, are you guys using the MM stock uppers or your ACTUAL "came with the car" uppers?? If actual, did you cahnbe bushings on them?? How about some part #'s, guess I will make due with what I have for now.

Wonder if I could get away with putting stock uppers back in (or the MM stock uppers since mine had 100,000 miles when removed), and just leave the UPR lowers, though some of the stuff be described I haven't experienced (or have and just don't know it), all mine does driving down the road is it seems to want to wander, at the track it spins so who know what is going on back there??

The ones that came on the car from the factory. The stock uppers MM sells are stock motorcraft ones I think.

Re: lower and upper control arms

I was just on there website looking, my stock one's rubbers are slap wore out. Guess this will have to wait, I JUST put on the UPR stuff last spring (this was also part of the wasted money when I put the UPR rear coilover kit and took off a week later

Re: lower and upper control arms

Nothing wrong with UPR rear suspension. Are you having problems or just itching to spend more?

Re: lower and upper control arms

Original factory uppers with mm heavy duty lowers. My uppers are slightly dry rotted, but nothing major.

I'd look for a stock take off pair of uppers with low miles. They go for cheap on here all the time.
