Steeda Catback
I'm about to grab one off of craigslist, but I was wondering why this isn't as popular of a catback. any input, before I buy would be nice.
I will post video of catback on car when installed. |

Re: Steeda Catback
I liked it a lot. Very easy catback to install, you don't have to drop the axle when installing it. It's king of quite with the stock mid pipe but with an O/R X-pipe it sounds great. Very similar to regular Magnaflows.

Re: Steeda Catback
Get them installed yet?
Not sure why they're rare, the ones I've heard sound great.

Re: Steeda Catback
debating on tackling myself on my garage floor or not.
seeing how you dont have to drop the axel to put them on, how do you get the stocks off, does the stock piping just unbolt and come off or do i need to cut? |

Re: Steeda Catback
we cut my stock exhaust off. I cant remember for sure, I wanna say if you unbolt the shocks at the axle and jack the car up enough you can lower the rear end enough to clear but you might wanna try searching to double check that.

Jack the car up and support it with 4 stands, cut the stock exhaust on the backside of the mufflers, unbolt it from the midpipe and drop the front section. Then fish out the over axle pipes. To gain more room you can undo the lower shock bolts to gain about 2 inches or more. It's real straightforward and easy to do. Ive had catbacks off (all aftermarket) about 5 times in the past 2 months. Make sure you jack the car up enough to get the rear tires off the ground to allow maximum drop of the rear axle. Any questions PM me, I'd be happy to help.

Re: Steeda Catback
Unbolt the upper control arms at the axle (along with the lower shock bolt) and you'll have all the room you need. I did it that way and took it out as one piece in case I want to put it back stock. More work for sure, but a hack saw isn't much fun either, as I don't have a saws-all.

Re: Steeda Catback
thanks for the help, I guess it depends if I do it on the floor of the garage or if I get hold of a lift, and good tools. I'm kinda itching to get it on so I may give in and pay to get it done, but on the other hand thats around $100 for new toys and the joy of installing.

Re: Steeda Catback
I like doing stuff myself too. I'd rather be slow doing it myself than fast by just paying for it. For the record I did mine in my drive with just floor jack and jack stands.
