TKO almost Finished...

Yep, the tail housing should be here tomorrow and Jason @ Texas Drive Train Performace is getting everything ready to be put in... I should be back on the Road by Friday.. All I can say is that this tranny shifts very smooth now and it should be able to handle anything I though at it...

I know your not chicken. Its been a while since I gave you a hard time. As for running on the street, not with these Yukohama's. These have to be the worst street tires I've owned. You could be running with twice the power and still get better traction than I can.

Might try to get some peeps together Friday night @ Denton if your not busy.

Later

I don't think I am going to break a TKO Tranny... If you could only see how strong the guts are inside this thing.. It should handle over 500 ft lbs of TQ.. Plenty for me...

Hey Cool Deal Jason, That is all I am going to be doing for awhile untill I get all the other parts I want to make sure everything is very strong through out the complete drivetrain.. I still have to get a Detroit Locker, TA Girdle, have the bottom of my axle tubes braced up like the fronts are, and a few other odds and ins.. So for right now I'm just going to be driving it.. I don't think I have driven Smoke the whole month of May.. Ever since the shoot-out he has been sitting in the garage.. I put the stock carrier and axles back in the rearend since I bent my 31 spline carrier. I put a new driveshaft on it and now I'm getting the tranny built since I bent the out put shaft.. I should have the tranny tomorrow if not Friday.. Then I'll put it in once I get home with it.. It shouldn't take me about an hour to reinstall it.. I'm getting very good at all of this stuff...

Dan,

Is the 3650 you removed still good? If so, is it for sale?

Let me think, Are you getting one with a 31spline out put shaft, if so your stock drive shaft will work, You will either have to turn your cross member in the other direction and drill new mounting holes. You will need a about a 1/2 inch spacer between the cross member and tranny to raise the tranny up, You will also need ajustable upper and lower control arms so you can set the pinion angle back. If you are getting a 26 spline, which you better get, because the 10 spline input shafts suck a$$ and will break and bend quickly, you will need a 26 spline clutch disc. Thats about it really, everything else should just bolt up. You will need the bell housing for the 4.6 too..

Re: TKO almost Finished...

I plan on getting the TKO 500 with the 26 spline input shaft.

If you remember anything else, jot it down here.

Thanks.

Here's a post from Moduar Depot about the 3650 to TKO swap. It includes installing the Lakewood bellhousing too...
