i have a problem
i have to admit i have a problem, and first step is admitting it i am addicted to a couple things i am a bit asshamed to admit the first is doing burn outs i love to fill the air with all that wonderful smoke and my second adiction is computer racing simulators
i had given up computer racing games 5 years ago and after trying out my brothers logitech g27 wheel and f1 2012 i have relapsed but i love it so much during the cold months when i cannot race my car this is the next best thing |

Burn outs will eat through your tire budget in a big hurry.

I really love the smell of a good burn-out. I also love sim racing but have been to busy lately. I have a full cockpit style race setup, G27 and ECCI setup. The ECCI pedals are incredible, wheel is as well but not force feedback so I use the G27 Wheel with the ECCI pedals. What racing sim do you run? I am on iRacing.

Re: i have a problem
Thank god I don't have a wheel for my xbox or I would be screwed on this as well. I still play forza 4 at least a couple times a week. Especially since the car is now in storage and the weather sucks. I feel your pain on the racing addiction. I wish it wasnt such an expensive hobby.
I would really like to get into any racing series but I just don't have the money to buy in to it. I've been looking at karting, American Iron series, SCCA, pretty much anything but its all too expensive so I'm limited to a couple track days per year and Forza. Its probably the most frustrating thing for me right now. I've been trying to find something I could enter the mach in. Even time trials would be fun. If anyone has any ideas or knows of any races I could get into on a tight budget please let me know. I'm open to pretty much anything at this point besides drag racing (fun for a few runs, but I get bored with it very quickly).

Re: i have a problem
well i run f1 2012 , gt legends and colin mcrae dirt 2( i love rally) i dont do iracing cause i race a ton one month and maybe not at all for a couple months
and as for racing if you are near chicago i have joined midwestern sports car council (mostly run high speed auto cross at blackhawk farms) they are great guys many tracks to choose from and anything from reg parking lot auto cross to high speed auto cross and wheel to wheel racing(the high speed auto cross is very well handicapped so you wont be killed by a viper or lamborgini in your group like i have been at some others. then i just found nasa TT which runs time trials as part of there hpde 4 group open passing and all that jaz down side is they require a transponder. you just have to prove you are capable of running group 4 to give you a idea of how midwestern works its a standing start flying lap and a cool down lap and 2-3 practice sessions in the am |

Re: i have a problem
Thanks for some places to look. Ya, I'm just north of Chicago. I'll have to look into midwest sports car council. Swapping out for some cobra R brakes and finishing some suspension work for the spring and I'll be good to go. If I can swing it I might see you at some events this spring / summer. Would be awesome to have another mach out there.
