4th cylinder misfire code Help needed
Took car out of storage last week. Cleaned engine with s100.
Must have got too much water on it (stupid) Car was running rough on the load. Friend had a meeter and said I had a mis fire on the 4th cylinder. Took off coil covers and there was water. Blew it out but it coded again. Took out all eight coil tubes and reset the code by disconecting battery. Car runs 100 x better but still "dogs" when I try to bang of 2nd. Any suggestions??? BTW 28k mileage |

Could be a bad coil , I've had several go out over the ten years dealing with these cars.

Re: 4th cylinder misfire code Help needed
The coils and/or plugs could still have moisture on them. You would be amazed by how much water a coil pack can hold. If that doesn't work, troubleshoot by changing the plugs and purchasing one or more coils, until the misfire under acceleration stops. It happened to me a few times, as a result of cleaning my engine. It would clear up after a few days. Last month, the problem persisted, so I swapped coils with a fellow Mach owner, and the car ran like new. So I replaced them all..Gas mileage increased also.

If you have to replace them all, go stock most would say. I gave the msd coils a shot and have no complaints. Seemed to idle better when I installed them at the time.

Re: 4th cylinder misfire code Help needed
I'd just pull the coils out and let things dry out for a few days first
