Shaker restore

Hey, just in case anyone wants to see it, I cleaned and painted the shaker on my 03 Black Mach 1 and I am VERY happy with the way it turned out.

Cleaned with Mean Green and a stiff nylon scrub brush (twice)
Used a blow dryer until completely dried and warm to the touch
Applied 1st coat of Rustolem Satin Black (allowed 1 hour to dry)
Applied 2nd coat of Rustolem Satin Black (allowed one hour to dry)
Applied 3rd coat of Rustolem Satin Black (allowd to dry 2 hours)
Reinstalled Shaker (stared at it for 2 hours) LOL

Re: Shaker restore

I did the Rustoleum satin about 3 years ago and it still looks as good as the day I did it.It's also not as "flat" as the origional and more closely matches the hood stripe. It's perfect.

Re: Shaker restore

Use Krylon Semi Flat paint. It's the perfect look, not shiny, not dull, perfect sort of satin. Looks like the spoiler on the back when you're done. The paint has a great spray valve too, so it lays out a nice fan spray for a goof proof application.
