electric fan failure @30k

i just put in a bypass switch for the electric fan so i could use it when i wanted.....shortly after using the switch my electric fan has failed......huge wobble in the blade and it makes a terrible grinding noise.....

is it safe to assume it was the fault of the switch....i used this switch often while sitting at lights hoping it would keep me cooler and not have the computer pull timing.....120 shipped from summit for a dorman replacement fan which isn't bad ,but i could have done with out the extra bullsh*t...lol

any thoughts???
