31 spline cobra diff housing
Hey all. I need some info regarding a cobra diff i just bought. I purchased it BRAND NEW from blue oval industries and when looking at it I found that the number on the housing was different than the one on the box. It came in a ford racing box with the Cobra diff part number:
M4204 F318C The part number on the housing reads: 1L2W-4205-BA I just wanted to make sure that I didnt get the wrong diff. It is 31 spline, but I expected to find the same part number on the housing. Any help would be appreciated. Last edited by mstng680365; 04-23-2009 at 07:21 PM. |

Re: 31 spline cobra diff housing
2nd one looks like a manufacturing number, not a part number.

Re: 31 spline cobra diff housing
how sturdy are these things in a solid axle set up on slicks? I recently picked up some 4.10s and already have slicks, looking for a differential though.

Re: 31 spline cobra diff housing
I bought the 31 cobra diff from itlrun. I havn't really got on it yet, but I'm sure it will hold up great from what I've read. I heard of people breaking the more expensive diffs and I heard of people who use used f150 diffs just fine. I would go for the cobra diff from itllrun for $203 w/ the carbon fiber clutch pack.
