Re: NFL Football Thread
No one gave up on that one until it was over. Tough play by both teams, and congrats to SF on a well fought battle.

Re: NFL Football Thread
Incredible game. I was pulling for Frisco only because I hate the 'Aints worse. Double ouch for Louisiana.

I concede the loss. The only grain of happiness i take is they stand no chance against Green Bay...or maybe even the giants for that matter. 5 turnovers and loss by 4 points. I feel good in saying they can not win the next round

I give the Niners alot of cred, they did exactly what they needed to do to beat a team like the Saints. They kept the score close, they took the ball away, and they didn't give the Saints any short fields. I do have to give the Brees and Co. a big pat on the back though...to turn the ball over 5 times and still be in position to win in the end is just incredible. I really though it was all over when Graham took it to the house with just over a minute left. Who knew the Niners offense had it in them? I honestly think that Williams didn't believe Smith would go all "West Coast O" on them like that in the end...and they downright torched Jenkins in their last two drives down the field. Great game either way. Tough loss for New Orleans.

Re: NFL Football Thread
Football is kinda getting like basketball. All you have to watch is the last 3 or 4 minutes. I had no special interest in the game, BUT it was exciting.

Re: NFL Football Thread
I liked it when they said New England had a former Denver coach up in the booth "consulting" them. Only thing I can hope for is they lose in one of the next two games.

They played fantastic...both sides of the balls. Unfortunately, only one Bronco showed up to play. SMFH Whatever, from second worst team to Final 8 with a "rookie" QB. I'll take that after the disappointments & Josh McDaniels massacre. Give credit where it's due...at least Pats didn't have to face Rapistberger.

Re: NFL Football Thread
No team wants to play the Niners in the super bowl. They don't lose super bowls. 5-0 and possibly 6-0.

Re: NFL Football Thread
They aint there yet. The Giants are on fire. Would'nt be surprised if the 49ers and Patsies both get knocked off next week. I need Manning/Nicks to keep rolling. I've got about $500 riding on them.

Re: NFL Football Thread
I give props to the Giants for knocking them off... but the Packers dropped like 235154 passes LOL. I'm much happier about playing them than the Packers on the road.

If history repeats itself..I like the Gaints chances.
The Gaints are playing just like they did the last time they won it all. My picks Gaints Pats.

Re: NFL Football Thread
I dont know if the Ravens can get past the pats if Reed misses the game. I don't know how bad he is but they **** near carried him off the field. As much as it pains me to say it the pats will probably beat the Ravens. ****-ing pats
I like the Gmen but they have to contain Vernon. Not an easy feat. He is a freak. Gmen are playing better D than the Saints did so it could be an interesting game for sure. Those line men like to eat so the game will be won in the trenches. Just hope they have new refs for this game Jeez there were some bad calls. Last edited by np_mach1; 01-16-2012 at 12:14 PM. |

Re: NFL Football Thread

The Giants defense is severely overrated. They are ranked 27th in yards and 25th in points allowed. The Saints were 24th and 13th in both categories. Rex Grossman beat them twice. They barely beat the Bills and Dolphins and The SEAHAWKS beat them. Did I mention the Niners already beat them too? I'm not saying the Giants can't win, but I don't see how anyone in their right mind would say that they are the favorites.
