Yes, I ordered the Sumitomos (2 of 275/40/17 and 2 of 315/35/17) from AFS.

Indeed, AFS charged significantly less for the Sumitomo HTR-Z tires than the Vredstein tires. In fact, the price charged by AFS (which includes mounting and balancing) was less than the price advertised on tirerack.com, for example.

Re: 10.5 wheels are back at afs

Broke down and ordered the 10.5 original finish rims. Still holding out hope for the chrome 10.5's but couldn't wait any longer. If they make the chrome again these puppies are gone but a mans gotta hook and the grey ones look ok (but black cars need chrome wheels). Cost $125 to ship to Ontario but they pay the brokerage so not too crazy.

I really like the Nitto 555 extremes. I was thinking about buying the Sumitomo's but I like the quality of the Nittos.

Nice looking ride BTW!

Re: 10.5 wheels are back at afs

Rims came in today. Some defects in paint and in casting but they are cheap made "made in China" rims after all so I can live with it. Too much hastle to send them all the way back to California from Ontario, Canada. 315 MT's look bad *** on them! Overall I'm happy with them. Will post pics of defects later.

I have a black Mach and am running original tires with the original 8 inch rims up front. Mickey Thompson 315/35/17's out back on the original finish 10.5's. The combo works just fine and probably has less rolling resistance for the dragstrip compared to 9inch fronts. The 'Gatorbacks' don't stick as well as the MT's obviously but works just fine on the street (even with 'spirited' driving). Everyone says it looks old school. I just did it to save money and because the chrome rims were not available.

Yes.

I bought my tires (Vredestein Sessanta 315/35/17) today. Now all I gotta do is get them mounted and balanced on my 10.5 Mach 1's. I'll be out of town so it will be a couple weeks. I'll post pics after I'm done.

How did you get the 315? I don't see them listed on the site.

You're right. AFS doesn't have the 315/35/17 Vredesteins. I bought them from a local performance tire dealer here in DFW.

I put some disposable 245-45-17 Falken's on mine until I can settle with a pair of fronts (same size).
