Re: AFS 17x10.5 Group Purchase

I would prefer a machined black set of 18X9's/18X10's, but a set of 17X9's/17X10.5's in machined black would be great too!!!

+1 I have been on their waitlist since Feb '08. I call them about once a month to check in. The last time i talked to em they said they had just heard from the factory which makes them and were trying to work out a deal. Still no eta however. According to the manager, I have heard two different stories.

1) The factory that makes the wheels also provides the oem wheels for Ford and possibly GM. With the new model year coming out they were swamped with orders from those two so the replicas were put on hold.
2) The factory had closed down.

Its a crap shoot with those guys over there. If only someone else stood up and picked up the slack. There is a lot of money to be made.

Oh and put me down for (2) 17 x 10.5 stock finish.

Re: AFS 17x10.5 Group Purchase

I'd like a pair of deep dish 17 x 10.5 machined grey (same as stock not machined with black inserts)

Or deep dish 17 x 9 machined grey (stock finish like all the other sites that carry 17 x 9 black but the stock color)

Either way I want a pair stock finish deep dish meats on the back that I can swap on and off for summer and winter. I've had my money saved for 2 years now.

Re: AFS 17x10.5 Group Purchase

I was thinking about letting the thread run for about a week or so, so any one interested could say they want a set then I'll email AFS with the link. It may have more impact if there are are around 100 pairs that they could sell rather than 35 or 40. I guess to us 70 or 80 wheels sounds like a lot but if they are trying to make wheels for Ford, as a company, well, that number is a joke. They just need to hire more people to work for them to keep up with the demand. If we, as a single type of car consumer, want this many wheels, could you imagine if you added the wheels that Corvette owners want and current model Mustang guys want? Now that's a lot of wheels. Definatly enough to hire a few more guys! God knows there are a lot of really talented people out there that need the work! Just keep the requests comming.

Re: AFS 17x10.5 Group Purchase

I'm in for 2 - 17 x 9 Machined Black & 2 - 17 x 10.5 Machined Black (maybe 2 sets of the 10.5's if the price is right).

Black prefered, but the factory Machined Gray would be great too. Either would be great!!!

Re: AFS 17x10.5 Group Purchase

Finally, on page 15 of the wheels and tires photo's thread I found the wheels that most of us are looking for. The 10.5" machined gray finish. It may have only been on page 15 because they are so hard to find! Anyway, if you like this look and you want AFS to know that you want to buy a set, please chime in. I'm jealous!!
