Re: NASCAR thread
Will GM Bought out Nascar 23 years because of new T Bird back in 84 it faster then GM cars, Ford always have better race cars GM Still can't handle it, so GM still payoff Nascar to win.

What on earth are you talking about? Rules are changing again? Sorry, but I don't understand your attempt at...humor, I suppose.

Re: NASCAR thread
Here's a question that I'm going to throw out to many of you Dale Earnhardt Jr. fans.(and yes, I do like him).
Now that Junior has made it official that he's going to be leaving DEI at the end of the year, how many of you will no longer be fans of his if he was to join the Hendricks stable? That is a possibility, especially if they let Mears go to make room for him. He may even start his own team and use Hedricks motors and engineering. Hmmm. However, If he doesn't do either of these and still a very possible scenario would be for him to join the Childress team. How awesome would that be to see him in the #3 car on that team. |

Re: NASCAR thread
He is a better and CLEANER driver than his old man ever was.
I don't dislike him, but I'm a Ford guy. Always have been.

Re: NASCAR thread
I kinda have mixed emotions. As much as I miss the #3 car, I realize that Junior is not his old man.
It would be cool to have an Earnhardt back at the wheel of an RCR #3 Chevy, black or red, doesn't really matter, but I think the novelty would wear thin pretty quick if Junior didn't have success in the car right out of the box. It's funny, but I wear some GM Goodwrench and Bud shirts from time to time, and people keep asking me why I drive Fords but wear GM shirts, and I just tell 'em, because I rooted for the Man, not the car. Dale Earnhardt could have showed up driving a John Deere for all I care, and I still would have been a fan of his.

Re: NASCAR thread
Me too. I don't root for the Atlanta Thrashers because they wear Reebok jerseys. I gotta tell you, I'm by no stretch of the imagination a Jr. fan, in fact far from it, but I've got to hand it to him, I think it took a lot of courage and guts for him to make this move. He could possibly lose over half of his fan base over this. I doubt it, but fans are funny these days. I actually respect him a little more now...but just a little.

Re: NASCAR thread
I've never been a fan, but I do respect him. He has stated that he wants to stick with Chevys so that leaves a lot of teams open. RCR has been after him for a long time and he would probably do well there. I personally think that he'll head for Gibbs. He is good friends with Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin as well as being a Redskins fan. Perfect match.
I don't think that he has to worry about losing fans...most of his fans are women and they could care less who he drives for. |

Same here, I would rather see him win all the time instead of Punk Gordon or J. Johnson.

Re: NASCAR thread
I can't imagine Jr. would ever go to Hendricks. I could see Childress for sure. But not driving a #3 car. I seriously doubt that number will ever be used again. I'm glad he left DEI. I don't think he's been happy there for about the past 3 years. I'm not a Jr. fan at all, but I do like him alot better than his dad. It will be interesting where the chips fall on this.

Re: NASCAR thread
JR will go to RCR and someone will leave -- not Harvick or Burton.
He will drive the 3 too. Perhaps not every race but the 3 will ride again. Bud ????????????????????????

Re: NASCAR thread
Jr. is okay in my book. Wish he could work it out with Theresa . Wouldn't it be great if nobody offered him a "good enough" contract, had to settle on a term with Mikey!

Re: NASCAR thread
I cannot wait to see Junior in a....
(wait for it...) Toyota!!! That would be perfect in so many ways, and you know they'd be willing to pony up whatever it took to make something like that happen at this point in time, including majority ownership in a team, boatload of money, whatever...am I right?

Re: NASCAR thread
Well since Nascar to some is as staged as professional wrestling, the only way that Jr. will win a championship is to join the Hendricks team.

Re: NASCAR thread
A number of people I've talked to today about this situation were dumbfounded when I made the exact same comment...and then said that it was something that made perfect sense. Toyota would give him the keys to the kingdom....carte blanche in an automotive domain where the technology and money would flow like a river.
My best bet is to invest in tatoo shop equipment. Can you imagine how many '8' tatoos are going to have to be revised or removed?

Re: NASCAR thread
It will NEVER happen.
You see, I have a feeling that Jr. loves America too much to commit treason, and doesn't seem to be a whore like the Waltrips.
