Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Dayum!!! That's a pretty sick rear end set up!! Man I soo wish I had the funds to do something like this, even if it was to trap around the 110-120mph range I'd be pretty happy! lol Good luck with the build man, can't wait to see the end product!

Thanks man! If you could stand to take yours off the road for a few years like me or Phil did, you could have something like this too!

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Here are pics of the new rear shocks mocked up in the car. I had Afco build me a double adjustable shock with their special "Big Gun" valving to go in the stock location. I also added a set of adustable lower shock mounts from Chris Alstons Chassiworks, Check them out!

Can't remember if they are 12" or 14" springs. We put a 150lb. spring in the car and will go from there. Alot of people we spoke with thought the 150lb. spring was a good starting point. |

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Thanks rhite!
Don't remember if I said it or now but we are gonna run the car on E98 ethynol, you need a very large fuel system because of how this stuff burns. I decided to sump the tank and use a external Magnafuel pump, filters and regulator along with some 160 lb/hr injectors to feed this thing. Here is a pic of the sumped tank. |

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Just asking ..how did you keep the axle housing from warping, since you did not stitch weld the braces?

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
You have to put it in a fixture before you start welding. Here is a quick example I found, think you'll get the idea.

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Been real busy lately, and haven't had time to update this. Here is a pic of the steering shaft and flaming river rack in the car, we also cut off the engine mounts off the PA Racing tubular k-member.
You can see in the pic where the new mounts have been welded on the frame rails for the motor plates and the midplate. Last edited by bdmach1; 02-14-2011 at 11:05 PM. |

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Time for some updates. I sent my timing cover and rocker covers to Chopsmitty in Michigan. I had him apply some hydrographics on everything. He really hit a home run, I asked him to make them look more "authentic" looking, and they turned out awesome!
Rocker covers... And here is the timing cover.... |
