Re: Powder Coated Valve covers
I finally got mine installed and **** these are very hard to get in. A lot of work to install valve covers on these engines. Have the engine compartment is growing over it. But the good part is how much cleaner and better it looks in there. I also got to speed some time cleaning other stuff up too like all the loose wires and stuff. I wanted something differant so I painted the letters and I have to say I love the way it turned out but once again very time consuming to get it just right. anyways tell me what you guys thing and what you think about the blue wire loom.

Re: Powder Coated Valve covers
$65 for the powder coating and $125 labor to put them on. Well worth it in my opinion.

Re: Powder Coated Valve covers
I happened to get the chrome Ford Racing coil covers off a guy on E-bay, brand new for $99.95 shipped. That is a steal for covers that cost $225.00 anywhere else. I will put them on in the spring with all the other chrome accessories that I will get for X-mas and on my birthday( Jan. 1).

Re: Powder Coated Valve covers
I cant believe I didnt post finished results in here. I did have some of the parts painted at the local body shop. The hood shroud and the rear firewall cover were both sanded and painted the body color to match. It really fits in nicely I think

Re: Powder Coated Valve covers
What does it cost to have them removed, powedercoated and reinstalled? I may have missed that somewhere in the thread. I would remove them myself, but I am no mechanic and would prob ruin my engine lol.
thanks!

i couldn't tell you how much it cost, i would call around your area and ask also to get a good ideal you can call Ford and ask them how much they charge to swap valve covers and see how much they charge and what the hours are it takes to get the job done i don't think its much to have em powdercoated, i think its going to cost you more to have em taken out and put back in if your planning on having the motor pulled out down the road i just wait till then, that way your not paying twice for something. just a thought ASh

Re: Powder Coated Valve covers
Can someone tell me where and how they did the power coating? Did you take it to a garage or do it yourself as in installing them?

Re: Powder Coated Valve covers
Just finished mine, Bright aluminum powder coat, and I painted the coil covers with red caliper paint and high temp clear. Still trying to decide if I like the coil covers, but they are easy to change.
