Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
As soon as I got the parts back from Chopsmitty, I shipped the right side rocker cover down to Marvin and Joey Bridge at Bridge Racing. I had them fit the rocker cover with one of their trick distributor setups...

That's bada$$ on an epic level. Your build and phill's build are the kind of things that make me sign into to this site.

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Here's a few pics of the trans parts before being assembled. Went with billet input shaft, billet forward drum with oversizedspline, billet aluminum high gear drum, transbrake and snap ring stabilizer.

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
what made you go for one larger turbo instead of twins?
My freinds think i am crazy with my build. you have gone a few steps further with yours. I wanted more of a track car and street driving so i went with the built irs. Your rear is sick. What was the cost on the complete build of the rear.

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Very nice!!! What plug wires you going with? I went with Taylor 10.4mm Thunder Volt 50,which are .406" diameter wires.

As far as the rearend goes, don't know for sure but if I were to guess I'd say I have somewhere around $2,200.00 including the wilwood brake setup and the custom back brace and powdercoating etc.... Hope this helps! Bob |

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
here is a few pics of what's goin on with the motor. When I heard that ARP wasfinally gonna start making side bolts for modular engines, I got my order placed and got these op shipped right fro ARp in time for my motor build.
They now offer these bolts for all modular blocks, including the BOSS blocks. |

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
I needed to replace the sprockets and chains after I ended up locking the cams up on the leftside head and breaking the secondary chain on that bank. Since I hurt the heads pretty bad, I went and saw my good buddy Roy up in Michigan and grabbed a new set of 03 heads to get the build underway. I shipped the heads off to Ron Robart and Cory Roth at Fox Lake Racing and had them fully cnc port my new heads, and install my old valvetrain from the heads I hurt. The old heads were fitted with Ferrara valves, Crower springs, with Crower titatium retainers and locks. After looking around, I really wasn't crazy about putting the stock chains and gears on this engine, I have seen some high horsepower engines have some failures with different parts of the stock drive. Here is the 1st upgrade I went with, These are made by Cloyes and have been in production now a lil over a year. These have been used in endurance engines from the likes of Roush Racing for a few years now I was told. Take a look!
Here is the adjustable primary sprocket, the sprocket is billet steel and is a 2 piece design. the center ajuster piece actually replaces the stock thick washer under the cam bolt. Here is a pic of the secondary sprocket and chain, the chains used by Cloyes in the kit are the exact same supplier that Ford uses, which are made here in the US. Notice the kit also comes with a set of adjustable secondary sprockets! I chose to go this route, because I wanted as much control of my new billet turbo cams as I could Once I get this thing running, we are thinking about playing around with the cams and see if we can squeeze as much horsepower as we can.
