Re: BBK Dual 65mm Throttle body review
i have set the voltage on my accufab Tb, nothing different, and made restrictor plate, only thing that changed was now hangs at 1600 until i blip the throttle, now i have blocked the iac and unplugged it and adjusted the idle screw so it would idle with the iac unplugged and the car hangs at 1100 rpm untill the car completely stops moving and cuts down to 900 rpm when it up to temp. i have cams in my car does this make a difference?

Re: BBK Dual 65mm Throttle body review
the only thing is i think the comp cams in my car are affecting the restrictor plate so no matter what i do it wont idle correctly. The guy that is going to tune the car said he has seen this with mach 1s with internal work done to them and there is now way around it, you have to tune the throttle body to the car?? sounds like the truth to me but im not experienced on this subject

Re: BBK Dual 65mm Throttle body review
Don't confuse throttle response with a power improvement. All you are doing is letting more air in at smaller throttle openings. A dual 65 mm throttle body only gained like 1 hp on a blown 32 valve Cobra motor. What do you think we will gain? Nothing.

Re: BBK Dual 65mm Throttle body review
Yeah, you can basically figure out what cfm your setup is demanding and use a TB that fits your need. When I used a stock TB on a 18psi Whipple, it was choking it. I needed @1300cfm and the BBK flows 1300cfm. A N/A setup needs much less cfm and the BBK will not give you any on the big end.

I recently installed a BBK 65MM TB on my 03 mach and had no issues what so ever.

Re: BBK Dual 65mm Throttle body review
I'm sure glad I read this thread. My car was doing the whole "I'm gunna stall at idle with the ac on" deal. I bought an SCT tuner- those ones M1M hates, and set the rpm at 1k. The RPM did not change, so I set the stop on the TB to match it up. Now my car doesn't stall anymore If my compressor is bad and I'm just avoiding it for now, that's just how it'll have to be for now.

This all could have been avoided if you were not such a pr&^% to everybody all the time. It's amazing you have any friends here or anywhere.

Re: BBK Dual 65mm Throttle body review
In all honesty is a TB even worth the $300 or so dollars?

Re: BBK Dual 65mm Throttle body review
I just picked up a used Bbk throttle body for my Mach 1. The guy who sold it to me says he removed it off of his 2003 Mach 1 with no problems. I installed it and testes it out. I have high rpms very stiff throttle and hanging Rpms roughly at 2000. Ive installed a restrictor plate, with no change.
How can I tell if this is the correct tb or is there anything else I should try to fix this issuse |
