I had a 81 Coupe straight six. It was Mistic Blue w/ vinyl top. Then I bought a 65 Mustang Convertible in 1986 and now that car is being restored. Lube

The Mach 1 is technically not my first mustang, though it is the first one I have both owned and sat in. Allow me to elaborate...
When I was but a lad, back in '66 or '67, my dad was negotiating for a new Ford p/u. He had taken me along that day, and at the dealership they had these toy mustangs, I guess about 1/12 scale (about 10" long anyway). It was a fastback GT, a 1967 model according to the rear plate, and came in light blue. The hood opens to show a white plastic V8, I guess a 289 back then, with a chrome air cleaner. It had a very detailed interior, with a chrome wheel, and gauge cluster. The coolest part is they had a motor and working head/tail lights. The motor went in fwd or rev, and the single flashlight bulb went into a plastic light pipe that carried the light to the front and back. You could let it go in a straight line, or set the front wheels to steer so it did circles. Ok, so I really wanted one, and was bugging my dad about it. He told the guy (who was a friend of his) "hey, I'll buy the truck, but you gotta throw in 2 of those model cars for my boys". The guy figured $20 worth of toys was worth it to seal the deal, I guess. I loved the thing and played with it all the time. My brother and I used to race 'em through the house. FFwd to 2004- -- I was showing my new Mach 1 to the folks, and mom said "You finally bought a real one, huh? You've loved mustangs since you were little".. "I think we still have those mustang models down in the basement" I had almost forgotten about them. Last week, when I was up visiting, I dug through the old boxes, and pulled mine out. It was covered with old hot wheels stickers, racing sponsor decals, and stuff. I brought it home, cleaned it up, and stuck in some fresh D cells. It still runs! I borrowed a flashlight bulb and tried that, the lights still work (though they are dimmer than I remember). Not bad for a 37 year old toy... After digging out the GT, I went through my miniatues and dug out the chrome Hot Wheels "Boss Hoss" and a matchbox mustang that has steerable wheels with a little lever on the side. He he I guess I have always loved Mustangs. I knew when I test drove my Mach 1 it was the car I always wanted, And I suppose the legacy of my toys proves it to some extent. I have driven trucks since college, and motorcycles since the mid 80s, but it took the Mach 1 sitting on the dealer lot to rekindle the love for mustangs that had burned in my youth and had almost been forgotten. I treasure this car, but not as a museum piece - a living breathing ultra machine that gives me grins from the moment I unlock the door until I say goodnight to Sparky and lock them up again. I guess this whole letter is a little sappy, and not what you all want to read about. No long line of mustangs leading up to the current one, etc. But I figured out of all the people I could tell this story to, the folks here on this board would be the most likely to understand.

13 second time slips you got to love it
This is my 3rd stang. I have a 96 GT that runs 14.30s and a 1971 Mach 1 with a 351 cleveland dont know what it runs yet just got it and want to fix some loose steering before we take it to the track. But I can tell you it wont beat the new Mach but it will give my GT a run for its money. Bye the way my wife says I have to sell my GT so if you know anyone looking it has a lot of mods done to it already. You can find it on autotrader web sight search area code 32055 for a mustang at $8500 pic included.

I just bought my first Stang, a Torch Red Mach 1. I've always owned Fords (except for my CJ-5 with a 302). Right now in my driveway is a 94 F150, 95 T-Bird, 02 Windstar, & now an 04 Mach.

My first stang was a 1970 Grabber Blue Mach1.
Bought it in 1978, it's still sitting in my drive and driven on weekends. I also have a 1988 GT Convertible, and now my new Blue 2004 Mach1. The only other stangs I've had were a 25th Anniversary Coupe, Black with a 5.0, and a 1999 (not limited edition 35th) GT Coupe. Right now I don't forsee buying another Mustang for about 3 years. |

[SIZE=3][FONT=arial][COLOR=blue] Me I had a 1987 5.0 with a police intercepter, pushing 520hp and 489fpt she had a world class t-5 trany and 3.73 rear end gears. Ihad her for about 6 years until I hit one of my dads cow's and that cow got turned in to food for the dogs. The bad thing was is that I was only doing 20mph when this happened. then I went and bought me a 1974 Corvette Stingray and it just sits at my parents house and NOW I am driving one of the fastest mustangs ever built , that is my thought about this any way.

3rd Stang
Had a 96 GT and a 01 GT. They were quick, but not like my 04 MACH. Its not every day that a competition orange car is seen and thats what makes my 04 so exclusive. Should hold its value. Time will tell.

My Mach would be # 3 if you dont count my first car, an 83 Mercury capri, which is the same as a mustang. I owned a 99 35th ann GT, then I bought my 03 cobra, and then 6 months later I bought my 03 Mach 1. Gotta love a mustang

hi, guys, my first stang was a 2003 zinc yellow GT. it was ok, but i wanted the mach since it was a limited production car but didn't have enough money to get it. well since i had a few issues with my GT like front end sweaks over bumps, the brakes groaned , the rear seat had a sqeak in it and the front seat had a lump. boy oh boy was i glad ford produces cars that are job quality 1. well after i brought the car in to get the lump out of the front seat and found out that the mechanic who worked on it didn't bother to even unscrew the two screws to disconnect the switch panel , he just pulled it out and broke it, I brought it back to now get that fixed also . while i was leaving the dealership with the loaner keys in my hand i saw this azure blue mach 1, i called the salsman over , said make me a quote and that was it -done, brand new 2004 MACH1:HOPPY:

This is my first post and before I start this is a very cool site.
My '04 Mach is the 5th Mustang I have owned. 1. 93 Black LX with the 5.0 Totaled on an ice patch 2. 94 Forest Green V6--What a mistake! 3. 95 Black GT Traded for a newly designed 97 F 150 4 98 Silver GT This car was my favorite at the time. Traded it for a 2001 Monte Carlo with the idea my next Mustang would be the '05 GT. Wasn't to be April of this year a guy pulled out in front of me in a Toyota Tundra and totaled my Monte Carlo Jeff Gordon style! That led me to the Mach 1. When I went car shopping I was going to buy a beater till the '05 came out. That was until I saw that White Beauty calling my name. By far my favorite Mustang as well as favorite car I have ever owned. Have had it since April and people of all ages look. It is amazing the response I get. |

My first was an 02 zinc yellow GT. I had customized the paint with modified boss stripes and flames. Unfortunately, all of the wonderful rain we received in June caused the body shop where I was having some work done to flood and my baby ended up under 49.5 inches of water. Yes, that would be a total loss. Kudos to USAA for working with me and including the custom work I had done when they figured my settlement. Now I have my 03 zinc yellow mach. Woo-Hoo! Can't wait to get her in the body shop (not the one in a flood zone) for custom work.

It's my first one. I've always been a GM man, but lets face it, other than the GTO, there was no musclecar built new by GM in 04. The GTO is expensive and boring. So I figured I had to stay American, and went to the Ford dealer. After test driving it I was sold. Luckily too, it ended up costing about $8,000 less than any GTO at that time.
