What's the scoop?
We've had our Mach for a couple months now and I noticed that the hood scoop doesn't look as nice and dark as it did wen we bought it.
What are you guys using on yours? I have some Mother's Back to Black but I think that's geared more towards plastic parts. Thanks |

Re: What's the scoop?
Back to black works well for the shaker, chin spoiler, mach 1 grille delete and also the windshield cowl. Pigspit would do the same.

Re: What's the scoop?
I repainted mine with the high temp BBQ pit paint and it worked well.

Re: What's the scoop?
Before painting either one of these ideas is good. I even dilute the B2B with water cause I'm cheap! You might try full strength if its faded. I use a foam shoe polish dauber (97 cents @ Wally World) to apply on the shaker / rubber hood seal and the chin spoiler every time I wash the car.

Re: What's the scoop?
I'll have to look into that Pigspit. Some guys I ran into at the Car Craft Nats this weekend recommended this Harley Engine Brightener. I'm guessing the local dealer will probably have both in stock.

Re: What's the scoop?
Painted with satin Rustoleum 7-8 years ago and still looks great.

Re: What's the scoop?
I used Back to Black since I bought the car. Had to reapply monthly if I left the car sit without the cover on it. Powder coated it a few months ago and haven't touched it since. Helps that it now sits in the garage under the cover 90% of the time.
