Official Vortech HP thread?
I'm guessing there's not too many people on here running any big vortech blowers like me. The ysi is a beast! All I see is procharger, turbo, and some kb or whipple guys. Where's all the vortech guys?

Re: Official Vortech HP thread?
I wish I could have made a full pull on the race tune to see my max hp #'s. And post em on here. Now i'm saving for an auto to put in and the rest of my susp. 28.5 psi after the ic on a ysi should make a good #. Should be an easy 9 sec car once I get it to hook.

Re: Official Vortech HP thread?
I have one. As raucous as grandpa's car.
No dyno numbers but ran 11.81 @ 121 leaving fairly soft & with full weight.

Re: Official Vortech HP thread?
I had a S-Trim on a 1998 Saleen S281 and didn't like it. Very noisy at idle and it didn't make that much power but then again the 1996-1998 4.6 SOHC engines were junk to begin with. I think those were the worst engines on a Mustang from 1985-present. The low end torque was almost non-exhistent.

Re: Official Vortech HP thread?
I never went with FI on my Mach 1, but I did install a non-intercooled Vortech V2 S-trim a couple years ago on my '07 Mustang GT automatic. On a Mustang Dyno I went from 240 rwhp stock to 364 rwhp on a conservative daily driver tune. With 4.10's, converter, and drag radials I went 11.85 @ 113.50 in the 1/4 mile a few weeks ago (Bremerton Raceway).

Re: Official Vortech HP thread?
My 1998 Saleen S281 had the 4.6 SOHC engine with Vortech S-Trim 7-8 psi, bigger intank fuel pump, Vortech T-Rex pump , 24 lb injectors, 70mm throttle body, 73mm mass air meter, Bassani catted X-pipe and Borla catback. Car made 301 rwhp 320 rwtq. Kinda pathetic numbers considering your running a s/c but then again like I said befor the 1996-1998 4.6 SOHC engines were junk to begin with. One thing that surprised me is that the car never ran hot even withou the intercooler the engine temperature never changed. But the again it could be becasue I was only running 7-8 psi.

Re: Official Vortech HP thread?
ya know im seeing some people went FI without a intercooler.. ive read and have been told if your sticking with 7-9 psi a intercooler is not necessary.. i dont know enough about FI to have a legitimate opinion on that.. i guess you could always add an intercooler down the road if ya wanted to increase the psi... think i want to start with 8psi or so and may pass on an intercooler for now... still debating
