My Mach1 turbo build!
Before I get to the details, just wanted to thank all the guys that have played a part in this so far. Gerry(G&L Motorsports), Mike(lofodo a.k.a. turbovert), Paul(twofast a.k.a. classicboost),and Terry and Shaun @ StreetLethal Performance and Joel@ Gadash Industries. I had been following the results of some of the builds on the forums for quite some time. I spent many hours reading on The Turbo Forums while I was off recovering from the multiple surgeries I had undergone the last few years. After getting well enough to get back to work, I was finally able to start gathering parts for my build for my 2003 Mach. The first thing on the list was the turbo. I was really impressed by the performance that people were getting outta of the Borg Warner/Bullseye turbos. I ended up scoring a Bullseye S380R from a member here on the boards(Thanks lazaris). After patiently waiting for just the right deals to come up, I was finally ready to get the build underway. Here are the specs on the car so far.
Engine: aluminum block .020 over, Cp pistons, 17cc dish stock forged crank 2003 Cobra/Mach1 castings, Ferrea valves, Crower springs, titanium retaners and locks Manley rods W/ sp-2000 bolts Ford GT super car cams 2003 Mach1 intake ported Melling oil pump ATI damper Moroso pan Turbo Kit Buseye S380R w/ 1.10 hotside,87mm turbine wheel PTK turbo headers Ebay Intercooler 31"x12"x4" Tial 46mm wastegate Tial 50mm BOV Turbo mounted and merge built..... |

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Some more of the cold side......
We used the elbow from Vortech to get to the throttlebody, I originally bought a transition coupler for the throttlebody, but we weren't happy with the way it looked. Think this looks much nicer, what do you guys think??? We also thought tha it would be best to have the BOV as close to the throttlebody as possible. |

I was wondering when you would grace my threead with your presence!! was beginning to think my junk wasn't worthy enough! Yes, the car will have a stand alone system,am undecided though if I am gonna keep it COP, or put a distributor in it for cam sync and run a crank trigger. Would like to here your thoughts on this. Yeah, it's the 4" core, there ia a guy in your neck of the woods goes by boosted gt that used the same intercooler on his yellow 95gt. If you know him, you know how stupid fast his car is.......figured if it is good enough for his car, it should work on my heap! Yeah the headers have been welded up good, should be good togo. Probably will end up with a AMS in the car, but am doing some reading right now on the MSD. Again, would welcome any input you have on the boost controller. Will post wastegate pics in a bit! Thanks |

Re: My Mach1 turbo build!
Ran into a little issue when the wastegate we fabbed up, ended up not using the correct diameter tubing to the wastegate. So Coop pulled it back off and we got the right stuff we needed. Here are some pics with the merge pipe off the car.
