Re: very depressed

I came real close to having that happen. The white paint from the garage door frame transferred onto the side scoop. I did'nt notice it till a co-worker asked me if my Mach got hit. I used a clay bar and the paint came off after a minute or so. I think that's as close as you can get without breaking it.

Re: very depressed

I feel your pain. The only door ding on my mach I did myself with the wife's car door in the garage. I was too lazy to walk around behind the door to open it to get something out and ended up hitting my rear 1/4 with the door.

Re: very depressed

well cheapest quote i got from 1 body shop and the ford dealer body shop are 620 and thats with me furnishing a new side scoop

http://s44.beta.photobucket.com/user...tml?sort=3&o=0

ford dealer wanted 1.2 hours to remove the rear bumper 5 hours for sheet metal work then like 3 hours to paint
i can under stand the 3 hours too paint but for the small dings seems like alot of time for sheetmetal work but both places gave the the same hour report

i know i havent done body work in a while but seems kinda high too me for hours wise

Re: very depressed

Sorry that happened. At least your car isn't black or some other color that would be hard to match on the paint color

yea very true and the second body shop i went to after the ford dealer was telling me that he would have to repaint the entire side of the car to blend it in, i know it hasnt been that long since i painted a car but for a white car that has 30k on it and has been garage kept forever there really isnt any fading that you would be worried about with blending

i thought about fixing it my self but unfortunately after a promotion and having to move for work i rent a small 2 bedroom and garage town house and land lord said no too painting

and i dont want to sped a fortune painting cause the car dose see a hard life between tt racing high speed autocross and drag racing just incase i do hit a piece of armco at somepoint

Re: very depressed

I was a painter for awhile.. I actually painted my first OW mach..

I tinted it and it looked great.. white can be blent but it better be clean or else the color will show.. he shouldnt have to paint the front fender at all.. the side scoops dont match anyways from the factory

Well you don't have to upgrade that far, lol
how dear that thought even cross your mind, lol hope you know i'm just playin
i'm very happy with the 2013 GT i mean overall 98% happy and my only con was where they did the center console, its not like in the mach how it sits alittle lower, but just how my GT is set up now with just the couple little things i've done and now that the exhaust is done i'm so happy with it. it be awhile till i do any more upgrades, i also have a divorce i'm going threw so that is taking my money right now. so have to hold off, i wouldn't have even done exhaust if i was going to pay 450plus for axle back system, and i got the one i got now for temp but i turned out to be perfect and what i was lookin for so i got my exhaust done.
really my list of mods isn't even a whole lot to be honest, only thing i'm addin is maybe alittle more steeda suspension upgrades, but nothing crazy
well i'll be gettin my purple heart plates soon though

ASh
