Re: Radar Detectors?
If I could replace my Passport 8500, it'd be with the 9500. http://www.escortradar.com/9500i.htm
I absolutely love my 8500 BTW, it's saved my azz from tickets many times. |

Re: Radar Detectors?
Valentine 1 here and love it. The arrows are priceless. I can't imagine not having them anymore.
That escort 9500 above looks interesting too. I wish I could keep the V1s arrows, with other systems features.

Re: Radar Detectors?
doing my homework a bit and im leaning really far toward the passport. The valentine seems to go off a hell of a lot for false alarms according to reviews where as the passport has memory and records the alarms that are false and dimishes them. Any objections to the passport 9500i cause thats what im thinking? and more input is always great.
thanks

Re: Radar Detectors?
You guys with radar detectors. How fast over the speed limit do you guys drive on the average?? (City, Highway, whatever) I've been driving over the speed limit since day one of my driver's license and in 25 years of driving only gotten 6 speeding tickets. The last one being about 7 years ago. Are you drivng that ensane over the speed limit that you need one? Personally, I always thought they were a waste of money. Just wondering.

Re: Radar Detectors?
Most will be a waste of money unless you drop the cash for a Valentine or a Passport. I've had several cobras and a Whistler pro series in the past and after my last one stoped working I decided I'm not wasting the money on another one until I can afford a Valentine 1.

that speeding ticket you got would have bought the radar detector and saved you from the other 5 tickets. You get the best detector and then your set. Highway i always cruise right at 3000 rpms which is about 92 in my car so its worth it. If you spend the money on one radar then your pretty much set for life. Any one disagree?

Re: Radar Detectors?
I generally cruise at the speed limit but I've been known for short sprints up to 120 just to get away from somebody that's annoying me (usually rice).
If anyone here wants to sell off their Passport 8500 for the 9500 I might be willing to take it off their hands for the right price. Been looking for a good deal on one of those.

Re: Radar Detectors?
