Re: SLP LM1 opinions..

Negative. My buddy has them on his 00 GT. If you just want something loud, obnoxious, and in your face great! But when it comes to pitch and tone, they are lacking compared to most other catbacks. Throughout the whole rpm range its fairly monotonous. His is even worse cause its an auto.

I had the catted Pro Chamber with stock headers and LM1. It was deeper than with SLPs X-pipe without the decel gurgle. Once I put LTs on and modified the Pro Chamber for cats the sound became more

So get LTs, cats, and LM1s and call it a day.

A friend had an 03 2V with LM1s and it sounded totally different than mine.

Re: SLP LM1 opinions..

the nice thing about SLP is that if it's too loud, you can always get a set of LM2s. my first exhaust mod was a LM2 catback and it sounded great with the stock H, not so much with the x pipe.

get the LM1s and see how you like it. if you get a mid pipe after that, get an H or prochamber, and definitely keep the cats!

Whatever you do, you must run cats with lm1.

Re: SLP LM1 opinions..

I almost bought the LM1 catback, however I heard them on a few cars and thought they had no tone just obnoxious. I have the Pypes Violator catback and it sounds awesome very throaty and great tone.

Re: SLP LM1 opinions..

They might sound ok with a stock h pipe. Might.

Anything else they get way too raspy. If you're set on SLP get the II's. They are 100x better. I'd still run cats.

Re: SLP LM1 opinions..

I'm a borla type of exhaust lover, but I personally think the SLP powerflo's sound the best. It's not as loud as LM1 or LM2, but If I had to pick between the two I would probably go with the LM2 and a catted mid pipe.

Re: SLP LM1 opinions..

If you look past the name youll like them. What I mean by that is everywhere I go a lot of mustang guys comment on how good the car sounds. As soon as I say, "SLP LM1", their rather shocked and don't seem to believe me. I like it with the catted x. Its loud when I want it to be loud but I can keep it quiet

this

I wasn't a fan of SLP but it really grew on me. All of the ones I heard were too loud and sounded like hell but thats because most of them were on o/r mid pipes. I love the sound of mine and it is LOUD, but doesn't sound like hell.
