Re: cage install oh boy..

the dash part actually wasn't to bad....the main wiring harness has keepers that attach it to the metal framing of the dash..those are a pain...I have a few cuts on my hands from getting bite...lol
other than that...my OLD wiring was a mess....
Jeff Chambers did my nitrous wiring and that was done perfect...I fished all the wiring out without cutting...that was the only easy part.

Aw man you could have just purchased my 91 coupe roller with the 10 pt roll bar. Your set up in that bucket would have you in 8.5 range. Then you need to add more bars

Get ready to learn to weld standing on your head. Here's a link to when I did mine. Maybe it'll give you some ideas for yours.

Re: cage install oh boy..

I have stripped down a few cars for cages. Feel you pain. Literaly.

Will most likely be doing this in the spring as I have added a small shot to that car and might as well bite that bullet sooner rather than later.

Same here...only they were fox bodys. Just gotta be brave and do ONE thing at a time. Don't look at the whole picture at once.

Oh I'm sure they are...that's what I meant. Looking forward to this install. I know your attention to detail. It'll be dead on.

Would be a good time to install aftermarket ECU.

Does this give you more tuning options?

I know a guy (with a foxbody) who is on the 10sec edge as well. He is keeping it there due to the safety setup he has. He doesn't want to get kicked out like you did lol. He's not ready to upgrade yet. Can't wait to see your setup!

Re: cage install oh boy..

While it's all stripped down could you get some close up pictures of how you mounted the shifter? I just finished all the cutting on my console yesterday and will be hopefully mounting the shifter this weekend. I was curious what others have done to level it out. Washers under the shifter?

heater core out...more wiring out. have to bypass heater core hoses in engine bay. one tube is 5/8" and other 3/4" so I will use an brass barbed connector to connect each to make a loop. the space in engine bay is tight and small.

Glass getting pulled tonight and starting to bend tube this weekend.

Crazy question and I know it most likely does not matter in your setup; but can a cage like this be installed and still retain all the HVAC and radio, etc in the dash? Or does the HVAC have to be removed for the room needed for the cross bar in the dash area?
