Throttle Body
Took throttle Body off and cleaned it today. It was very dirty... After it was cleaned up i noticed a little corrosion on the blades. So i am looking for a new one, ford does not have a direct replacement. So suggestions on throttle bodies?

Re: Throttle Body
What I do know is that a lot of people have had problems with after market TBs. If yours is working properly I would leave it alone.

Re: Throttle Body
I hope by cleaning it you just wiped off the oil and dirty with a dry cloth and didnt use any chemicals, Ive had a ford Tb run right after trying to clean it with chemicals, you may have just ruined your old one anyway

Re: Throttle Body
how will cleaning the throttle body ruin it? i did use a terry towel and some elbow grease.... just dont like how the exterior is looking... the brass blades are showing corrosion build up on them... i cleaned them as best i could...

Re: Throttle Body
Ford puts a coating on the back of the tb blades from the factory and chemicals can remove this coating as well as ruin the shaft seals and your car will never idle right again if this happens
