kenne bell is a twin-screw super charger. it will fit under the shaker with out a problem. and imo there the best choice for the street brawlin' machs :ORANGE:

You should plan on forging the motor no matter what supercharger you go with. You are running on borrowed time when running boost on stock internals. Sure, a "safe" and conservative tune will help you survive with the stock internals for some time, but it's only a matter of time before you go KABOOM!

And yes, the Intercooled KB setups run around $6K

Another expert on "borrowed time". And the intercooled Kenne Bell is around $7000.00.

I have no faith in the stock rods holding up to forced induction for a prolonged period of time, especially if you drive like you stole it on a regular basis. They were not designed to take the forces they will see under boost. I could see not building the motor if you are putting it off for sometime in the near, but no plans of eventually building the motor not only seems like a half-assed idea, but a dumbasss idea as well But hey, it's a risk you play...the real question is if or when it will go kaboom.

Borrowed time is a damned good way to describe things

Stock internals with moderate boost and a good tune can last a long time, unless you like to just desroy things

Re: Which supercharger works best

If you drive around like you stole it with a blower all the time you're probably going end up in jail before you blow your motor because at that power level your car will be all over the road. Get a blower, a custom tune and don't go crazy with the boost you'll be ok.

Re: Which supercharger works best

under 425 rwhp on low boost with a safe tune and your engine will be fine. but you definitely should build the engine in the near future, like the other guys have said, stock internals will last, but not forever. forging the motor would be the smartest thing to do. a full forged rotating assembly for our machs is under 2G. so its not like your talking godly amounts of money.

supercharge it this year and forge it next year.

Re: Which supercharger works best

I Just had Lidio install a Kenne Bell supercharger on my Mach. Lidio knows his stuff and it is what he insists on for Mach 1s. It is the only mod that I have and frankly, I am more than impressed at the results. 11.77 in 85 degree weather on pump gas. Tuned conservatively and the drivability is great.

I know that folks spend well over 10 K on bolt on and other stuff that eventually kill the drivability. In my book, one mod, and this is it. Get some wider rims and drag radials and you are done. Very brutal street machine.

I agree to a ppoint. I have been running a boosted stock bottom for 23 months and 15k miles now. Granted I do not use more then a about 4-5 pounds on a regualr basis, but I do have over 20 dyno pulls along with 28 1/4 mile passes on my stock bottom.

BTW I do have a Teksid that I am starting to build as I agree about the borrowed time, but **** this has been a lot longer borrowed time then I thought when I went boosted!!

I thinkn a stock bottom is perfectly fine under moderate boost. I also think that most of the blown up boosted applications are as a result of the owners who become addicted to boost and keep wanting more.

15K in 23 months ain't exactly wearing it out. And 4-5 lbs of boost is pretty conservative too. I'd say as long as you're doing that sort of thing the stocker will last quite a while. But then you're only using a tiny bit of the capability of your power adder too. So if you baby it, the stocker will last. Otherwise the stock rods have a HP limit no matter how conservative the tune.

Re: Which supercharger works best

Hey guys, I know of someone selling a huge procharger F1R for $3700. If I were to get this, would it blow up my engine? I mean, from what I can tell, it's the meanest procharger that ATI sells. Good idea? Bad idea? I have the money.

Screw the SC'ers ------------------- single or twin turbo is the ticket. Why use power to make power. I'm so happy with the TT'd GT going another way seems nutz.

lol yeah WHATEVER! I knew the e was on one of them there names.

And yeah, I think anything under 8psi is fine for stock internals, but you ARE weakening them. So yeah, it is "borrowed time" I guess but it depends on how you drive how long that time is. I dont' see why it can't last years on stock. I would definately forge it though. If nothing else, why not? Just slap a new belt/tune whatever and bump up the boost and get 500+rwhp!
